What's on my mind today...

I'm starting to get really excited about the BDB series coming out on June 5th. I have seen the extended trailer and it looks so good! I'm even excited to see V, which is my least favorite brother. Look, I know he's a fan favorite, but I finally started to warm up to him in The Beloved. Yes, its taken me this long even though Butch is my favorite of the Original Brothers, as I call them, and he is Butch's BFFL. The actor portraying V, Sia Zami, is EXACTLY what I thought he would be like irl. I think all the casting has been spot on.

I am currently in a re-read building up to the next release. I'm on Lover Unveiled, which is Savage and Mae. This is where Devina makes her big splash. I mean, I guess you could argue that she did that in The Sinner when she wiped the street with the Omega, but this is where she really shows herself, especially to the readers that haven't read the Fallen Angel's series. If you haven't read it I highly recommend you go back and do it before you go any farther into your BDB line-up. You meet Devina, find out how she operates, meet characters from BDB and new ones that come into play in Lassitar's book.

So that's my assignment for today. Go read the Fallen Angel's series if you haven't so you can get up to speed on who the new Big Bad is in Caldwell.

It's a short one today. I have more on my mind with the DBD, but I guess it will have to wait because I have laundry to do. And the laundry waits for no man. LOL

BDB Dark Lover

So I mentioned in my last post that I started with Rhage's book and then went back and read Wrath and Beth's. Actually I was on lunch ?when I worked at the W_Place_That_Shall_Not_Be_Named and I was looking for a new series. I saw the Warden's books and bought Rhage, Z, and Butch. I started with Rhage while I was waiting for Wrath to get to my door. This was 20 years ago and Amazon Prime was not a thing. Oh, how far we've come!

Ok, I have to ask. Does anyone else have multiple copies of each book? Like, multiple, multiple copies of each book? I get the signed hardback book, I get another hardback from Amazon, I get it on Audible and I get the paperback when it comes out. And if I see her books in a thrift store or in the $5 bin I buy those, too. I was at Half-Priced Books on Sunday and I found the entire paperback collection of The Fallen Angels series and I bought them. I couldn't leave them there! I don't hoard them all though. I gift them to people that have holes in their collections. For instance, I have 5 hardback copies of Lover Mine that have all been signed. Why? I don't know! I just can't leave any book behind. Is this just me? Am I the weirdo? Don't answer that! I think I already know.

I am really looking forward to the Q&A this September. I am feeling out of sorts because we should already have the book, have read it cover to cover at least twice, and be coming down from the contact high I get when I am with my fellow Cellies in the Wardens presence. I'm looking forward to seeing who Devlin's parents are...although, I think I know. What are your thoughts? I'm leaving it open ended for now, just incase anyone actually reads this and wants to venture a theory. I would love to have a conversation with anyone interested in talking all things BDB.

Black Dagger Brotherhood

So I'm starting this blog about the BDB and all things BDB. I started reading in 2005 with Lover Eternal. That was back when the books came out every 6 months. I was automatically hooked.

I immediately went on Amazon and got Dark Lover and my life was changed forever.

I was one of the original Cellies on the Yahoo board for the BDB. I was so shy and I didn't think I could fit in. I made myself a vow that I would post 100 times by the time Lover Avenged came out. I crushed that goal and I met my tribe. We were the original Qhuay girls. Ya know, Qhuinn + Blay. We had our own room on the board, Qhuay's Locker Room. We posted daily and it was where the Warden would come and grace us with her presence. Sometimes we were lucky enough to see the Brothers posting on the Board. These became the Slices of Life that are in the Insider's Guide.

I was the Qhuay cheerleader and I would post daily cheers about the boys getting their own HEA. I had a blast. I finally got to meet the girls in the room when we met up in Kentucky to go to a book signing for Lover Mine. We had so much fun talking and laughing and having such a good time we had security called on us twice. It was all worth it in the end when the Warden announced that the boys were getting their HEA. Then she announced that with all the support the boys were getting they were getting their own full sized book!!! Not a background story, not a side book, but their own BDB book. It came out on March 26, 2013.

Now here we are in 2025. So many books have come out since then. We are now in the next generation. The signing events are now other worldly in size. WE ARE FINALLY SEEING THE BOOKS BEING MADE INTO A SERIES. (I'm so freaking excited I can hardly contain myself!) We are cosplaying characters, which was unheard of until Lassitar, and this signing event in September is going to be the biggest yet.

How did you fall into the series? Who are your favorites? Why? What do think will happen next? I want to hear it all!!!
