Good news! Jeremy is getting better~ He’s been moved to a one gallon tank (that needs a good clean which I’m doing after this) since we found out what was wrong with him in order to cause him less stress with Connor in the five gallon bothering him. While I was gone my dad and sister had been helping him and feeding him the occasional slice of pea to try and get him through the swim bladder disorder and low n behold hes not stuck floating on his side! He can actually swim around and get to the bottom of the tank and chill with no issues what so ever which is a big, huge even, improvement on how he was before. Things are looking up for my little guy and as long as the continue to, I will soon be able to stop stressing and start working on asks in this blog again.

And just when I get the good news that my laptop is working again, I have to throw in bad news into the mix. As of recent I’ve cleaned out my fish tank completely. I own two fish, Jeremy my betta and Connor my pleco, and the two have gotten along well so I know its nothing to do with them. I used the water I always do for the tank, and I even had their temporary containers floating in the tank to the temperature didn’t shock them when they were placed back in.

So I literally can only come to one conclusion about whats happening with Jeremy right now. And thats that he is currently possibly dying because he hurt himself on the tank filter. Hes been healthy thus far and I keep a good eye on both of them in case of any sickness, so I really doubt it can be any disease thats making him float the way he is. When I originally bought him he did this same thing but quickly corrected himself after a day and zoomed around the tank like a normal fish would. Hes not correcting himself. In fact his condition has gotten worse and hes struggling a bit to swim. Now how could this be the cause of the filter? Well the first time in almost a year Jeremy had actually gotten stuck to said filter. I calmly helped him get unstuck and he seemed fine at the time but like I said, he slowly got worse. I’m thinking of replacing it because this apparently happens often with the type of filter it is and I don’t want to risk another fish to it, I don’t want to end up loosing Connor too if I end up loosing Jer. So things are going to be slow until I can figure this out but things aren’t looking the best and I’m upset.

Why an otter?

Well you see originally I intended for Jeremy to have a tail like Michael’s except it was a dolphin tail. But it just didn’t feel right to me? While the concept of Jeremy being a ‘dolphin furry’ is pretty funny I didn’t want people to go ‘You chose that because he masturbates all the time’ if you get where I’m coming from?I for one always saw Jeremy as a otter even before people started asking questions to the cast. Very quick moving, slick animals who have good playful personality but can still fight off bigger badder predators if they have to. Prefer to stick in groups or in a pair rather than alone, does that not sound like Jeremy? His daemon (when I had that au) was also a otter because it just worked so well for him.

A very happy early Valentines Day! While I personally don’t have the best of memories of this holiday, I know many do and enjoy celebrating it. As a way to celebrate it on blog I decided to draw a pair of the girls! Because no ones really asked them things and I felt bad since I love their designs and they aren’t seen that often. So enjoy!

Fun Facts for today

Proto-Squip talks in ‘Wingdings’ and can very easily be decoded if one were to look up a wingding translator.  At first I thought about having him talk in binary code, but I feel wingdings is easier to work with thus was the choice I went for. Proto-Squip is also a combination of his own character and the book Squip. So hes bitter but he wouldn’t kill a man for his own gain sorta thing. Squiplodon was a dumb play on Smilodon. Because thats what he is. He has exactly two forms and is made to act just as the Squip in musical. The only difference is hes more bitter and aggressive and not really meant to be fully liked by anyone. I want him to come off this way so people are just as uncomfortable with him as Jeremy is. Squiplodon’s color was originally going to be yellow, then purple. So many people suggested yellow and purple but using these colors I realized it made him seem to soft. Yellow to me is like a bright friendly color that everyone would trust. Purple is a soft motherly type color, and didn’t stand out well with the rest of him. Orange is a bright burning color while also being a color that says ‘back off’ which I found interesting. Michael was almost a Wickerbeast before he was a Manokit. This was because on the website Furvilla, I said I was going to use a Wickerbeast potion on Michael bc the color scheme fit him and the species all together just seemed very Michael. The reason I wen’t with Manokit officially was because Manokits in general just seem far more Michael than the Wickerbeast did in the end. I had the same issue with Christine. Christine was originally meant to be a gem raptor but this time I didn’t go with it because my lack of knowledge on the species and not knowing if it was open or not. So I went with the next best thing which was Dutch Angel Dragon.  I also had this same issue with Jeremy. Jeremy originally was meant to be a Dolphin because of the entire “Jeremy’s furry would be a dolphin” thing. Then I felt it didn’t express his character enough and I changed him to a dolphin/otter. A Otter with a dolphin tail. In the end I wen’t with just Otter because I think it fits Jeremy much better than a dolphin ever will with how !!!!! they are all the time and how their personalities are. I thought saying someone’s fursona would be a dolphin because they masturbate was a really dull thing to go with personally as well because then anyone who masturbates would just be a dolphin.
