Hi hello please tell me more about Ra'zirr immediately I love her so fucking much
hi hi ok so. i have been thinking abt her nonstop for like a week now and there is so much i could say about her. and i will. idk if u play dnd but i will be talking about sick dnd buildcraft in a reblog of this but for now im just gonna talk abt her as a character
Ra'zirr was, originally, a morrowind character i made after i beat the main game with another, except with her i beat the dlcs. i didnt have much of a story for her back then, just that she was the wife of said other character (a nonbinary argonian nerevar named Kuva) and that she kicked multiple gods asses. so when i began expanding her as a dnd character, i kept those details and started adding in more inspiration from the webcomic kill six billion demons
her thing is she was a war orphan who was "taken in" by a corrupt noble and in the early years of her life was forced to be a servant to him. however, in her teens she met a dirty, haggard women in an alley who basically kidnapped her and began to forcefully train her in the art of war. as she grew up, she stopped being a servant and was instead put into a gladiatorial arena, where she fought for her life until she was an adult. by then, she was incredibly strong and incredibly pissed at her circumstances - so she took a chance, wounded said corrupt noble, and fled the nation. several months later, a sandy and exhausted ra'zirr limped into a small fishing village and finally collapsed after being on the run for so long. there, she was nursed back to health by kuva and finally had some peace for a brief moment. for a few years she stayed in that village, fishing and relaxing with kuva, eventually falling in love with them. they married, and everything was hapy and great for them until ra'zirr was maybe like 35. then, she began hearing that the corrupt noble from her past was scouring nearby areas and looking for someone, so with a promise to come back to her wife once that noble was finally dealt with, ra'zirr fled again. so tldr; she just wants to fish but tragedy follows her
and youre going to like it
shes a dnd character of mine with one of my favorite builds ive ever built. she's a conquest paladin/totem barbarian, which is just so so so good. the reason u dont see many barbarian multiclasses is bc they generally suck and u cant multiclass with a spellcaster class (which are 7/11 classes in dnd) bc barbarian rage prevents u from casting or concentrating on spells. ra'zirr specifically ignores this limitation by 1: having spells that just dont require concentration, like spiritual weapon - as long as u cast it before u rage, u get to keep it. she also gets to use more of her spell slots for paladin smites, since she's not worried about actually casting many spells. and finally, she gets lay on hands - an easy way to heal herself without using spell slots.
so all that gives u the benefits of barbarian (resistance to lots of damage and extra damage urself) without compromising on the advantages of being a paladin. but thats not all! bc in addition to being a strictly better paladin, she also is mechanically terrifying. as in, she has a dozen ways to inflict fear on her enemies, from her leonin racial trait daunting roar to her paladin channel divinity. thats all very cool because as a conquest paladin, she gets a unique special ability where enemies that are afraid of her and are within 10ft of her cannot move and passively take psychic damage. and there we get to er feats - polearm master and sentinel while using a glaive, which lets her attack enemies from 10ft away, provoke opportunity attacks from enemies coming in or out of her space regardless of if they disengage, and completely stop them if she hits. so if an enemy is afraid of her, she can move so she is 10ft from them and start whaling on them without fear of being attacked back, and they literally cannot move and often cannot hit her at that distance. also, totem barbarian makes her take half damage from basically all attacks.
ra'zirr is the most literally and figuratively terrifying dnd build ive ever made.
