It has come to my attention that this blog has been flagged as having sensitive content.

Merry Christmas, and Happy Birthday, Vitya! â¤ď¸
Whatever you do, do not think about the fact that Yuuri and Victor would have absolutely had to practice for that gala ice dancing routine. Donât think about the moment the finished costumes arrived and Yuuri came out in his, smoothing it downâŚa blushing mess. Donât think about that star struck look on Victorâs face, eyes misty and sparkling, seeing the love of his life, his fiancĂŠ, wearing a pair costume for that routineâŚVictorâs desperate plea for love.Â
Donât think about how happy it made them both feel to be wrapped in each otherâs arms over and over again on the ice, while they mapped out their choreography. Donât think about them constantly messing up in rehearsal because they were too busy staring at the beauty of their partner.
And definitely, definitely donât think about them getting so caught up by the intimacy and closeness that they keep having to stop in the middle of the rink from stealing lingering kisses and giggling like the gross, in love idiots that they are.
Just donât do it.
I built a floor plan based on photos from the Scandinavian apartment used for Viktorâs apartment in the original broadcast of YOI, as seen here (go look, itâs amazing). This is not the layout that weâll be using in NLA, but Iâll be using it as a starting point and blending it with what we see in the bluray release + layouts Iâve found in my research + things required for plot. :)Â
That said, some of you might find this useful reference! Itâs by no means perfect, but please enjoy.Â
âŚalso, yes, Makkachin is a llama.
Some less-explored aspects of Viktor Nikiforovâs character that I will love and protect until my dying day:
Finally learned how to be a young and careless person at age 27
Was absolutely 100% willing to jump straight into a âMarried for five years with a dogâ type relationship with Katsuki Yuuri the moment his feet hit the ground in Japan (Viktor âU-haulâ Nikiforov)
Arrived in Japan assuming that he and Yuuri were already in a relationship and, once realizing his error, didnât pressure Yuuri into âKeeping his promiseâ or something similarly creepy
Literally is such an affectionate person and lets exactly zero (0) stereotypes regarding Eastern European men apply to him
He never raises his voice in anger to anyone??? ever?? I love it
Is an extremely competitive person but probably also the most sporting person in the entire fuckin show? Like even Yuuri can sometimes be a bit of a sore loser but Viktorâs like, Yuuri you better inspire the fuck out of that smol multi-colored skate child. Hell yes Iâm proud of Yurio, thatâs my boy, thatâs my actual son.
Is a masculine person who gives ZERO FUCKS about perceived gender
NONE of his compliments to Yuuri are overtly physicality-based? He showers Yuuri in compliments about his stamina, about his ability to wow the crowd. He tells him how sexy he is but itâs entirely because of how Yuuriâs CONFIDENCE makes him sexy. Viktor is, at every moment, using positive reinforcement to make Yuuri see himself in a kinder light.
Is literally always unashamedly high key about everything.
YURI ON ICE MOVIE NEWS ARE ON THE HORIZON
I repeat: Ice Adolescence news is coming!
Starting from 18th of January, 2019, the TV anime episodes of Yuri on Ice will be marathoned in Japanese cinemas for three weeks in parts of 4 episodes each week.
Mappa announced that there will be special movie news played at the end of each screening, though the news will always be the same regardless of the screening. Could it finally be the trailer for the movie
They also revealed the designs for the tickets for these screenings, which weâve all been losing our minds over since this morning haha.
I know Iâm late and youâve probably seen this already but in case you missed it - hereâs the newest news!
Yuri on Ice will be showing its anime reruns in theaters again in Japan from January 18- February 7. Same day ticket costs 1,500 yen. Advance tickets costs 1,400 yen. You can also buy the ticket set for 4,500 yen. The design for the set tickets includes, Yuuri, Victor and Yuri
Hereâs the schedule:
Part 1 (Ep. 1-4): January 18-24
Part 2 (Ep. 5-8): January 25-31
Part 3: (Ep. 9-12): February 1-7
Weâre like birds that glide on ice with sharp soles. Weâre the flyers on land.
so in January we will have a chance to get some new stuff with Victor??? :O
i think itâs more than likely, yes! theyâll be showing four eps a week during the three week screening and there will be new official art released every week plus the iceado preview which will be the same the entire time, so the probability of some of it having new vitya stuff is super high ahhhhhhhhh i canât wait ;;;;;
âWhy do you keep pulling away?â The words spill from Victorâs lips before he can stop them, because after all this time, heâs had enough. Heâs tired of the games, tired of Yuuri acting like this is real, like he feels it all just as strongly as Victor only to turn away and push him back. Victorâs tired. So tired.
âI donât know what youâre talking about,â Yuuri looks to the floor, his voice betraying his emotions. Heâs a terrible liar, always has been, but now more than ever, Victor can hear how wrong those words are. He knows. Yuuri knows and he hurts, and Victor canât understand why Yuuriâs doing this if itâs hurting him, too.
âDonât play dumb,â Victor crosses his arms over his chest, concern etching his features, âIs this just a game to you? âCause I donât do games, Yuuri. We either commit, or we donât.â
âItâs not a game. VictorâŚâ Yuuri keeps his eyes trained to the ground, rubbing his arm nervously, and Victor wants desperately to hold him, to take that fear away and tell him that everything will be okay. But will it? Victor canât be sure. Not when Yuuri keeps insisting on putting distance between them.Â
Yuuri looks at him like heâs made of diamonds, smiles brighter than the sun and laughter so infectious it warms Victorâs heart, but just as quickly, Yuuri lets go of his hand, walks away, tells him he should go home instead of staying the night, and Victor just doesnât know anymore. He wants Yuuri. Wants desperately for Yuuri to know exactly how important he is, but every time they get close, Yuuri backs away.Â
Victor canât quite squash the voice in the back of his mind telling him that none of it means anything, that heâs nothing more than an idol to Yuuri and that this was never anything more than a fan with starry eyes. He wants to believe Yuuriâs different, but in those moments when Yuuri pulls away, itâs like a knife to the heart, like someone was pushing him down and reminding him that he wasnât allowed to find happiness, âThen, what is it? Why do you keep doing this? If you arenât interested, just say it, Yuuri. Quit stringing me along.â
âI⌠Iâm notâŚâ Yuuriâs voice cracks and Victor nearly does, too. But he canât. He canât let things keep going the way they are; living with uncertainties and wondering whether he and Yuuri have some semblance of a future together.Â
âThen why!?â Victor canât hide the frustration anymore, the anger, the hurt. Victor has been used by so many people for his fame, but not Yuuri. He didnât want to believe for a moment Yuuri was like all the rest. But there was a nagging in his mind, something telling him that thatâs exactly what it was.Â
âBecause I love you, you idiot!âÂ
Victor freezes, the words hitting him like a slap to the face. Heâs heard it a thousand times from fans, and it shouldnât hold the same weight, but the way Yuuri says it, the intensity of his voice has Victor at a loss for words. Yuuri looks up, tears in his eyes and Victor can do nothing but watch as he lays his feelings on the line, âYouâre funny and youâre kind, and youâre so, so hot,â Yuuri pauses, wiping at his eyes, âAnd youâre cute, and so talented a-and⌠andâŚâ
âYuuriâŚâ Victor isnât sure what to say. He didnât expect that response. Victor was all prepared for Yuuri to turn him down, to tell him that all of this was nothing but a little bit of fun to pass the time. Not this. Never this. Victor hesitantly takes a step closer, chewing his lip nervously, âIf thatâs how you feel, then whyâŚâ
âBecause you deserve better!â Tears fell like a waterfall, but Yuuri didnât look away, âEveryone wants Victor Nikiforov! Iâm just an amateur skater, I have nothing to offer you. Donât act like youâre the only one hurting, âcause it tears me apart pushing you away, but I have to! Youâll thank me later.â
Victor closed the distance between them, his arms wrapping tightly around Yuuriâs waist, holding him close. Yuuriâs feelings matched his own. Thatâs all Victor cares about. Yuuri goes still in Victorâs hold, the only movement the gently shaking of his shoulders as he cries, and Victor wants desperately to make it stop, to never see Yuuri cry again. His fingers tangle in Yuuriâs hair as he holds him close, voice gentle, âThere is no better than you.â
âVictorâŚâ
âI donât care who comes along, they wonât be you, so it wonât matter,â Victor pulls away just enough to look in Yuuriâs eyes, brushing the pad of his thumb against Yuuriâs cheek and wiping away the stray tears, âSo stop pushing me away, âcause youâre the only one Iâm ever gonna want.â
Yuuriâs stares at him like a deer in headlights, tears in his eyes, but thereâs more there. Thereâs love. Yuuri grips Victorâs shirt as if heâs afraid heâll disappear, and their lips crash together in a mix of love and comfort. Thereâs desperation in Yuuriâs touch, a need for closeness, a need to know that this isnât some wonderful dream. Itâs real and itâs them. Victor knows immediately that Yuuri already has a claim on his heart.Â
yuri!!! on ice will get a second movie theater marathon in japan on january 18th!! hereâs new official art hiramatsu made for the event âĽ
pulchritudinous
for @nerdbully thanks to @victuurisummerloving â¤ď¸
I know this isnât any of the prompts youâve given me, but I hope itâs sweet enough to make up for it? ;3c
Thereâs an elegant line to Victorâs nape when he bows his head over the small piece of paper with jumps and combinations scrawled onto it in a confusing sequence of symbols that no one other than a figure skating junkie could decipher. Victorâs hair is brushed away from one side of his face and falls gently on the other, lovely tresses of silver moonlight draped over his ear. Yuuriâs fingers twitch to touch, to tuck in that one little flyaway lock that slipped out of the rest, but he forces himself not to: he doesnât want to disturb Victor when he looks so⌠he looksâŚ
He looks⌠regal.
Thatâs the only way Yuuri can describe it. Even if thereâs nothing kingly about Victorâs low cut V-neck shirt that exposes his collarbones, or the sweats that heâs wearing, which have slipped a little from the on-ice training and now ride so low on his hips that when he breathes, the hem of his shirt rides up and Yuuri gets glimpses of his pale skin; there should be nothing dignified about it and yetâŚ
Victor doesnât look like a prince, nor is he trying to look like one. Sure, he likes to dress nice, but he doesnât dress to impress: he only does it to look nice for himself. And sometimes for Yuuri, too, but that is a whole another matter that makes him even less princely and more a dork, which Yuuri knows he is.
But the fact that from time to time Yuuri canât help the comparison in his own mind just adds more to his starstruck mooning. Victor doesnât seem to catch it while he chews on his lower lip in thought and that, like everything about him, is way too majestic â or it looks like that to Yuuri, who whimpers out loud when Victor finally releases the plump, now delightfully red flesh from the capture of his teeth.
âAnything to add?â Victor asks.
âUmâŚâ Yuuri gives, as intelligently as his dizzy mind is capable of at the moment.
Victor smiles at him when no more words follow and itâs that smile, the heart-shaped, lovely one that makes Yuuriâs face flush and something adoring and vulnerable sting hot at his eyes. Victor turns to him while his forearms still resting on the rink barrier in a way that makes his shirt ride up on his back. Yuuriâs eyes glue to the spot where Victorâs spine arches and when he blinks, it feels like his body has moved completely of its own will, because he finds himself with a hand resting right there.
Victorâs skin is warm. Yuuri presses himself into Victorâs side and lets his hand sneak under the hem of the shirt to run his fingers over it. His hand isnât cold per se, but Victor sucks in a surprised breath.
Even then, he looks imperial. Beautiful. Glowing.
âI think itâs perfect,â Yuuri says.
Youâre perfect, he means.
He has no idea what Victor was saying before, but no matter what it was heâs fairly sure he struck the nail on the head since Victor smiles at him again and his love melts into the tiny wrinkles around his eyes. They, like everything about him, look refined.

A short preview of my piece for the Okaeri zine! Iâm part of the âдОПâ edition
ď˝ď˝ď˝
âVictor⌠This isnât what I thought you had in mind when you said you wanted to break in our new bed.â
âMmm. Are you complaining?â
âNo.â
âThen I donât see a problem.â
Victor canât help but smile as Yuuri nuzzles against his chest with a happy little hum. Theyâre cuddling in Victorâs king-sized bed, with its plush comforter and far too many pillows, a well-deserved reward after hours spent moving furniture and unpacking boxes. True to Yuuriâs words, the offer to âbreak in the bedâ may or may not have been proposed with some seductive whispering, implications of christening sheets and intimate pleasure. But really, what pleasure could be better than this?

(for @yoituuri and @starryfeathers. I accidentally deleted this whole thing once so hopefully it doesnât happen again/ itâs not rushed. I hope you enjoy you two, and anybody else who reads this!)
I made a post about my favorite boy Victor not too long ago, and I mentioned a shot in passing that I really loved, but because it wasnât the focus of the post, I didnât go into it. I would like to now. Here it is:
This is the first glimpse of Victor we get within canon. Well, beyond the opening sequence with Yuuri watching Victor skate as they grow up but I think we can all agree that was outside of canon and can be discarded here.
Anyway.
Itâs a damn good first glimpse. As youâve probably already noticed, Victorâs eyes are covered. Deliberately. Dude fuckin does a twirl and the camera is framed in such a way that we donât get to see his eyes until he looks up for the cameras. Thatâs an interesting touch, for several reasons.Â
First, when a characterâs eyes are not visible, it implies something is hidden within them. A trait, motivation, true emotions, etc etc.Â
Secondly, the fact that we canât see Victorâs eyes until he turns to the cameras with that fake-ass media smile. In this scene, weâre being treated as the public. Victor is immediately hiding from us and the rest of the world. You know, something he does all the goddamn time.
Victor is scarily good at masking. For those who donât know what I mean, masking is the act of hiding oneâs true personality, desires, and/or emotions to conform to society. I mask due to past trauma. Victor masks to meet public expectation.Â
Youâve probably guessed already that masking is incredibly unhealthyâitâs repression, after all. If it gets bad enough, youâll stop knowing where masking ends and you begin. Sometimes it takes me months to figure out how I feel about something because I need to sort through so many layers of masking and anxiety and doubt. Itâs really difficult sometimes.Â
We see tons of lovely examples of Victor masking throughout the show. Here are a few off the top of my head:Â
(^absolutely terrified vitya trying to be smooth)
(^living up to his press image)
(^so incredibly upset on so many levels but he doesnât dare show it)
(^pissed enough that yuuri picks up on it. and then acts dishonestly w/ yuuri by trying to come off as pleasant)
(i love that yuuri is comfortable enough by this point to call victor out on his bs. if youâre gonna get mad, get mad)Â
(you can actually see Victorâs hand shake if you watch the scene. boy is so pissed and heâs holding it in)
etc etc.Â
Victor is actually incredibly reserved in all the emotions he shows, especially if itâs anger or sadness. For most of the series, he only lets himself go in front of Yuuri or alone. Victor hides from himself, he hides from Yuuri, and it helps no one in the end.Â
The beach sequence, actually, is important to this idea too. As we know, Victor asks Yuuri what he wants them to be.Â
And then he lists off all these options before essentially asking to go out with him, but in a way that says heâs too scared to do it outright.
Now, this is partially to gauge Yuuriâs feelings towards him, but itâs also highly revealing of Victorâs self-worth. Heâs willing to put on any mask, any persona to be with Yuuri. Yuuri, of course, doesnât want this at all.Â
đ¨ HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP ALERT!đ¨
And looking at Victorâs reaction (guarded surprise)
This may be the first time Victor has been asked to just be himself.Â
So if Victor was a world champion at 16
(boy is 15-16 in that article)
He must have been skating for a while beforehand. We can probably approximate by saying he started competitions around the time Yuri did, which I estimate to be about 12-13. However, Victor does say thisÂ
And if weâre to believe him, 27-20=7, and therefore something happened at the age of 7 to force Victor into backing away from others and working himself to the bone. Uhm, wow. I donât know how accurate it is to say that, but regardless, heâs been in the public eye for a long fuckin time.Â
Victor has spent this long fuckin time building an image: elegance, confidence, charming yet untouchable. The perfect playboy, in a way. This is the person he presents to the public. I think heâs been masking like this for so long he forgot that this isnât who he isâVictor has the ability to be all those things, but itâs not who he is. Victor is excitable, bubbly, caring, vulnerable, depressed, lonely, hardworkingâŚYuuri, by asking Victor to be himself, released a metaphorical floodgate on Victorâs emotions. Heâs broken that carefully crafted persona.Â
Victor is now publicly goofy and affectionate
(i love how he hides his face a little hereâŚhow cute and shy while showing off that heâs yuuriâs)
And can drop his composure comfortablyÂ
(also vitya always wears gloves to competitions until they get the rings and then victor keeps the gloves off completely :v)Â
I love that Victorâs relationship with Yuuri has allowed him to find himself again, and peel away those masks to live and breathe and love as he was always meant to.Â
I feel like everyone thinks Victor is the reckless one because he likes to surprise people so he never tells anyone his plans. But in actuality he carefully thinks through all his choices and ideas before making a move.
He just doesnât talk it out with anyone before hand so it will be a surprise but he knows precisely what he will do and say at any given time. Heâs methodical.
Heâs a planner
Like even arriving in Hasetsu. Itâs not that easy to transport a pet across international borders or to arrange a visa in order to work in a foreign country for several months.
Victor had to have been planning the move for a long time and never told anyone. The only impulsive part was when and I think thatâs because he wa holding off to hear from Yuuri. He was waiting for a signal and he thought heâd received it.
Victor isnât impulsive or reckless he is a planner who makes his actions look impulsive on purpose
Yuuri on the other hand is the definition of reckless and impulsive. He never knows what heâs going to do before he does it which is why he is constantly able to surprise Victor. Because there is no plan
Heâll decide on the fly to announce heâs in love with his coach live on air
Heâll decide mid program to change his last jump to a quad flip
Heâll decide while out shopping to buy fucking engagement rings and propose to Victor
Heâll decide right before his free skate at the fucking final to massively ramp up the difficulty and skate a record breaking performance
And Victor cannot ever guess what Yuuri is going to do because Yuuri himself doesnât fucking know!
Yuuri is a fucking loose cannon of drama and grand gestures
