                            THESPIS  & the great drama debacle

                              “Thespis and the Great Drama Debacle” is Beach City Community Theater’s first play and a historic fictional comedy. It portrays the adventures of the first actor, Thespis, as he discovers the theatre as well his interactions with royalty, a god, and a few entrepreneurial citizens. Taking place in ancient Greece, the play follows Thespis as his theatre comes to fruition with the help of many people and a dash of morality. Having been written by Jamie and Preston, this is the first time this play will be produced.

               TIMELINE 1. Dionysus stirs up drama with Oberon and Titania as others watch. 2. Thespis begins instigating and profiting on the entertaining drama of others. 3. Thespis’s actions cause further drama among the people in search of profit. 4. Sophia attempts to admonish Thespis and is actually listened to. 5. Solution: Thespis invents theatre for entertainment with no harm.

Biography: Although he has never had experience with the theater before, Fry has worked in opera before as a musical prodigy - a talent that has since been lost. He found the theater while accompanying Bender in search of a different sort of theater and was pulled in by the atmosphere of a small, friendly community, that would (hopefully) support his interest in acting no matter how bad he was at it.

While Fry was born with his foot in his mouth and two left feet, he’s genuinely interested in acting, even if he’s awful at it.

Biography: After helping out at the Opera house, Milo was always interested in finding a place to make people laugh, cry, and gasp in shock when the light fixtures nearly knock out the actors. Amanda always gushes about visiting a small, community theater, so it was only a matter of time before he came to help out!

He seems to know a lot about how the different mechanics work behind the stage, and just by being there, something is always bound to go awry. Being backstage, he has the best access to all the worst accidents should something break/malfunction (as it usually does).

Hiya !!  I got 2 notes to share today !!!

1.  It’s been a few days now since I started auditions so I’m going to go ahead & kick off this verse tomorrow,  15 July,  & update the blog with our first play !!  There will be an announcement of the general plot + cast posted then. Auditions will still be accepted & roles given out accordingly past this date, of course. Stay tuned!

2.  I placed my Jason Funderbcrker as a junior director, though I am 100% willing to let someone else have that place since I already have Jamie as director!

Hey, guys! Bout time I made a greeting post, ehehe! But I’m Mod Emi, the second admin for this verse alongside Tin! We’ve been cookin’ up some ideas for the verse that are bound to be really neato, so be on the lookout for more posts! And just to reiterate, feel free to start roleplaying in the verse! Have muses get to know each other and all, because I’ll be doing the same soon!! And remember, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Biography: Kimiko has always loved theater, she’s been a fan of it for a long time. While she isn’t a bad singer or actress by any means, she vastly prefers the backstage work and tech and helping the actors and actresses shine and sparkle on stage and look and sound brilliant. 

She loves technology and sound and lighting and she’s very familiar with it having worked with theater tech for a long time.

Role:  Leading Actor / Audience Member Written By:  Anomaly  (she / her)

Biography: Dani has no prior experience with acting, but enjoys watching plays and is interested in trying her hand at one. She has an excellent singing voice for being untrained, and so would potentially be suited for more of a lead role in a musical. 

Dani first heard of the community theatre while taking shelter there during a rainstorm. She happened to catch the tail end of a play, and was fascinated by the story told. It didn’t take long for her to overhear a conversation between two actors, regarding the next project. She decided to hang around and see if there was a way she could try it out, as well.

Role:  Supporting Actor Written By:  Cailey  (she / her)

Biography: While not fully understanding how theater works but wanting to learn more about this human activity, taking a supporting role would be a good way for gay grandma to do that. 

Heard about the theater through Jamie and though she’s admittedly still confused about it as a whole, decided that it would give her something new to try while on Earth.

Role:  Junior Director (age 13) + Writer Written By:  Emi  (she / her)

Biography:   Preston has a huge love for the theatre, and as such he's actually delved into the world of directing! The first show he directed didn't go so well, so he's hoping this will help him gain more experience! He also dabbles in writing, so he's more than willing to lend his ideas towards a show!

Preston met Jamie at Camp Campbell, actually! He was a counselor there that helped out more with theatre-related things. He learned about Beach City Community Theatre through him, and decided to try his hand out there!

            the stage can be a place of complete magic and inspiration,  so why would your dear thespian not travel far and wide to experience the best of productions ?  under beach city’s own lead director, jamie, you can either take part in or witness the greatest plays available to see this side of the rp world !  read below to find out how ! 

                   this theater’s policy

→ ic drama is fine  ;;  ooc drama is not fine. → this is not supposed to be stressful so don’t worry about posting in the verse every day or whatever. however, since there will be a new play every month, please try to post for this verse at least once a month to keep it going. → duplicates will be accepted. if two people with the same muse want to be a part of this, then I’m sure we can work out a way. however, unless this is a twin au for the duplicates, please take different roles to make things less confusing and more diverse. → this verse is multifandom and OC friendly. while this is multimuse friendly, you must specify which muse you’re entering. everyone may enter multiple muses, but each muse must have their own audition form. → please read all of the pages. this verse isn’t strict but it is set up to stay active and depends on its members for that!  applications to join can be sent in any time !
