I made this backpack myself — from leftover fabrics I had at home.

Every piece has a story, every stitch was worth it.

I’ve been using it for a week now, even took it on a hike — and it held up like a champ.

The Easter kitties were finished at the very last minute, and there wasn’t enough of the off-white fleece for the black one, so I chose this mint green fabric instead — it’s at least 20 years old (my mom used to sew things for my little brother from it).

The main thing is, everyone was super happy!”

The next step in my ‘no more fabric shopping’ project: the butterfly-patterned fabric was the last one I bought, and the black one has been waiting for about three years for me to finally use it. I had a lot of fleece, and I’ve used it quite often — unfortunately, it’s running low now. So, I’m making some cool cats out of these for my own kids for Easter.

I’ve decided that in the coming months, I won’t be buying any new materials—instead, I’ll be creating and recycling from leftover supplies at home. The larger airplanes were already made this way.

The two green ones and the larger pink one are still looking for a new home!

A new order came in, so besides working on my own project, I made a kindergarten bedsheet today. To avoid waste, I used the leftover fabric to make a teddy bear as a gift.
