Cox And Crendor In The Evening.
After a month of learning to paint using photoshop, I've decided to put some hours into a single painting. This is the result!
I had some problems painting faces as my computer is far too slow to allow for adequate formats. More so with custom brushes. I had to resort to a lot of spacing and more patience.
In any case, I like the final result. So, take care and be positive!
It was a day of failed attempts at drawing. Therefore you only get a sketch that I'll finish tomorrow.
As every Wednesday from now on, you can find my spitpaints on The Pictomancer.
Flower God. Done for the Daily Spitpaint. I tried to do something in the style of hindu religious illustrations. This version took me a couple of hours to make, but this one was within the time limit.
I still can't find a way to fit more than 6 arms on a humanoid torso. Better luck next time, I guess.

I went over to the Pictomancer for my Daily Stuff.
I'll be posting different stuff here, but not today!
I've been sick this week, I also missed a day of posting.
But, let's not allow that to happen again!

I finally decided to put a few hours into a landscape image. This was the result.
I had no reference, barely a basic idea of what I wanted to do, but the end result pleases me.
Despite my search for the ultimate photoshop brush, I ended up doing everything with the default round one.
In any case, be positive.

Work in progress since I was entertaining an esteemed colleague for quite some time.
More info in a few hours when I'm done!
Here's some quick landscapes.

I'm ill. Woke up at 1 AM, couldn't go back to sleep.
My throat was swollen, I could hardly breathe from the mucus running down into my lungs. So I decided the best thing was to drink some water. It was. The swelling diminished, the mucus was washed away.
I mean, I could have gone to sleep, but I had to do my laundry... so around 4 AM, I divided the whites from the colors and turned on the washing machine.
Why didn't I go to sleep after the water-drinking, you ask? Well... I have a problem with moderation. I had only 3 glasses of water to drink... and about half a liter of green tea... the glasses too were half a liter each.
The human body is not meant to hold that much liquid! So trips to the bathroom were frequent.
I tried to go to sleep, but I was tortured with the thought of my neighbor's birthday. I had gotten him a present few days earlier, but I didn't wrap it. He's a cool elderly gentleman, the best neighbor I've ever had, told me not to buy him anything.
I had to wrap it. Examining my condition I concluded It would not be wise to bike to the other end of town for some money to buy decorative paper. So I searched the house and used my colored origami paper to improvise something.
When I was done, the washing was almost done, so I passed out for about half an hour.
The neighbor's wife hangs my laundry after I wash it, so I left it in the common hallway around 6 AM... and did the dishes and swept the kitchen. -_-
Around 9 AM I awoke, hearing the voice of the neighbor conversing with his friend outside. Concluding that it would be rude not to deliver the gift at the first opportunity, I made myself presentable and went to greet him.
We talked for a while. He's a very talkative person, able to weave stories for hours. But eventually I managed to go back to my bed. BUT!
I've bought a wooden box for a friend. I decided to varnish it. Light varnish on the inside, dark on the outside. I did that the day before, but, I wanted to put another layer and touch up some more things. So, I did that for a while.
When I returned to my flat, the neighbor invited me to solve a computer problem. He bought a new keyboard. His wife gave me some cake and cream and sent me on my way when we were done playing with the keyboard.
It was about 12 PM, so I decided to go get some sleep finally...
But before I could close my eyes, there was another knock on the door. My neighbor's wife bringing me lunch. At this point I decided I would not try to sleep because it would be rude of me not to be awake when she brings the dry laundry.
The thing I was CERTAIN of was that I wouldn't be uploading anything to tumblr today. I already had my excuses. I could barely keep my eyes open, my vision would not focus, I had tissues in my nose to stop the downpour of slime. I was so tired I got dizzy when I stood up.
But... i had to put another coat of varnish on the box.... and I just HAD to put something up.

Next week we'll have something completely different!

A few sketches for Illustration Friday.
I'm constantly fighting the urge to use "parchment textures" for my sketches. They would look better, but i'm seeing it as the "easy way out."
So, here's some skull and bones for ya.
Cheers!
