Did you know? The strict linearity of the early-game can all be blamed on One Person.
Finally started my SwSh adventure recently!! I love….Sobble….
Evening reblog!
Leon and Hop sibling headcanons! (SWSH)
- Leon used to call Baby! Hop, “Bunny.”
- Now that Hop is older, Leon uses that nickname for when the two are alone or with just family. Either for teasing or soft moments. Really depends.
- Since Lee had to basically raise his younger brother, you can be damn well sure that he is very protective of Hop.
- In fact, Hop’s Wooloo was given to him by Leon when he saw Hop as a baby nearly wander into the woods. Poor guy had his heart skipped a beat as he sprinted to the little guy to grab him.
- And if Leon were around to hear what Bede said to Hop during the story,,, hoo boi, that prick would be one dead son of a bitch.
- When Lee took a trip to Kanto not to long after becoming champ, he actually talked to Professor Oak and got a Charmander egg from him… The only problem was that he couldn’t get to his plane on time if he tried to hatch it, and Charmanders aren’t local to Galar, so if Leon had an egg of a Kanto pokemon on the plane… He’d get in a lot of trouble.
- Cut to poor Leon explaining to his mum why he just smuggled an egg across to Galar and getting his yelled at.
- And that, kids, is why the Charizard line is apart of the Galar dex and not the rest of the Kanto starters. Because Magnolia didn’t want the poor boy to be under heavy media fire of why a non-Galar pokemon was now apart of his team.
- So Charmander used to be around Hop quite a bit and now fully evolved, has a very good sense of how kids are and how to take care of them to some degree. One of the first lessons being to watch the open flame tail at all times, because he was waaaay to close to setting a Baby! Hop’s clothes on fire when he was a Charmander. Multiple times. Oops.
- Hop is a bit of a meme lord, and leaves Lee so??? Confused???
- Hey Google, why is my brother asking for loops??? What is yeeting into the sun mean??? What is that weird pose he’s doing with his arms out to his sides???
- Hop, plz, your brother is already struggling with his champion schedule, he doesn’t have time for memes just to keep up with your crackhead bullshit;;;
- Very few people are allowed near Leon’s hats… Hop is not one of them. If you think Lee gets himself lost in places, Hop gets THINGS lost all the time, even if they are in the same room as him. He can get himself places, unlike his brother, sure. But Leon has the one up in not losing important stuff and having to tear up the room to find it.
- Thank god for Wooloo and eventually the rest of Hop’s team of pokemon. Because I guarantee you that if it wasn’t for them keeping track of the rusted sword/shield, Hop wouldn’t have it at the main climax of the game. If it weren’t attached, this boy would lose his own damn head.
- These two have one thing in common, however… They are both terrible cooks. Seriously, we’re talking Koffing class curries here. If you think some of the main ingredients for curries were weird (I.E Whipped Cream, Apples, Pasta, etc) wait till you see what these boys try to throw in, especially the random assortment of berries. The curry will either be burnt, way too cold, or have been spilled everywhere.
- These boys tease each other, they can be disasters on their own, but they mean so well for each other. That’s just the way family is, right?

* There is a tale that a young boy once lost his way in the Slumbering Weald. They say even the Champion himself is afraid to enter there…🌺
What she says: I’m fine
What she means: I love that Sword and Shield gave you a rival that doesn’t just brush everything off and keep trying. In the past we’ve always had rivals who don’t really let it bother them that the player character is so much stronger than they are, and continuously beat them down. I mean we do get characters like Green and Silver that are genuinely bothered they can’t beat you, but they never take it as personally as Hop does—pretty much right from the beginning of the game Hop has so many expectations put on him as the younger brother of the champion, and he wants to meet all of these expectations and he strongly believes he can. Until the player character comes along and defeats him every single time. And it’s a HUGE blow to his self confidence, because if he can’t beat you, how the hell is he supposed to defeat the undefeatable champion? And he keeps trying but it never feels like enough, and his confidence doesn’t really come back even in the match against him during the League finals. Other rivals usually accept their losses—some right away, others at the end of the game when they finally realize just why the player is so strong, and they decide to strive to be stronger—but not Hop. Hop gets frustrated, loses hope, and the raw emotion he shows after losing to the player right before the finals just. Shakes me to the core, honestly, because no other rival has ever been truly upset about losing, and for the first time I couldn’t help but feel really, genuinely sorry for him. Hop has so much more at stake as a character and as a rival to you than any other rival ever has before, so when he loses you can feel how awful it is for him, and his frustration follows him into the post game where he struggles to figure out just why he can’t be strong like he wants to. Seeing other rivals lose never bothered me until Hop, and now it just breaks my fucking heart because he deserves so much more than to just be beaten down constantly and being told he can’t do it, he can’t achieve his dreams and he can’t be the Trainer he wants to be because he’ll never be good enough.
what if instead of being a professor, hop becomes a pokemon ranger and his partner pokemon is dubwool :pensive:
(As always, the phanthop au was created by @roseltheteacup and @alittlewriter ! Im so sorry for spamming you both I just... have so many ideas. I’ll stop alerting you two if you want me to tho! With that said, enjoy!)

It’s cold, and dark, and he curls up into himself. He doesn’t know why everything hurts so much. He doesn’t know where he is. He doesn’t know where to go. He’s lost.
He shivers, wraps his coat tighter around himself. He doesn’t remember exactly what he had been trying to prove, coming here alone with no Pokemon in the dead of night, but as his hands grow more and more unresponsive he digs inside himself for any trace of regret.
He doesn’t feel it. All he feels is tired.
(Challenger Hop, how do you feel after your rival became champion?)
(Second rate trainer. You’re an embarrassment.)
He wonders if anyone will notice that he’s gone, as his chest begins to slow and the mist surrounding him steals the warmth from his body. He’s only going to weigh the others down anyway. It’s better this way.
He closes his eyes.
---
The boy is curled up under a tree, life fading fast- they watch, and ponder, as the bearer begins to succumb to the cold.
(Where did the light go? Where was the human who stood fearlessly by their side against an alien threat, a halo of light around their head, a crown upon their head? Long live the King.)
The boy is lost, and dying. The shadows reach out to claim him as their own.
Not today. They bound forward, soundless, the trees parting to let them through. They growl softly as they put their head on his lap, and the woods bend to their will. A hushed murmur fills the air, sudden and haunting, nightime whispers reaching a frenzied cacophony. They had been waiting for centuries. They will not lose the boy here.
Slowly, their bonded begins to shrink, his skin growing hard as bark, the soft flesh of his hands falling apart. They watch as he stops breathing entirely- but his form is new, and his life no longer in danger.
They stretch, feels the last of their physical form begin to wane with their show of power. It is time to return to their slumber. Their job here is done. They take one last look at their bonded, before disappearing into the fog.
(The boy is lost, yes. But lost things can be found.)
---
He wakes up.
