I genuinely believe so much of queer discourse can be traced back to "one person of a specific minority wronged me personally, so now I assume that everyone of that specific minority are categorically evil."
I think a large percentage of the queer community (and I would argue the larger progressive community) has never truly reckoned with their own capacity for bigotry, and instead have assumed that because they are a minority they *can't* be prejudice. This makes them incredibly susceptible to bigoted thinking and it's a huge problem. The queer community is shockingly bigoted and hateful, ranging from racism to sexism to transphobia to anything else you care to mention, and in many ways it just keeps getting worse because people respond to any criticism with "you are calling me, a whole ass trans woman, transphobic" and don't even try to improve.
