The Natural Hair Struggle is Sometimes Real
I won’t even lie to you, I love my natural hair, but SOMETIMES, the struggle gets just a little too real. It can make a long week loooonger just on maintenance alone, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
There’s nothing worse than being up twisting your hair in a perm rod set or something for like 2 to 3 hours just to wake up in the morning and your hair isn’t dry or it just doesn’t turn out right. Now you’re left to figure something out when you’ve already wasted a whole bunch of time taking down the contraption that was supposed to be your hairstyle. In comes the famous puff to save the day! Yaaaaaas!
One thing that helps it become less of a struggle is just letting my hair do what it wants to do and just going with the flow. sigh
Sephora is That Crack!
I can’t even look at a Sephora store without going in. It’s bad y’all. Even when I intend on going in there for only one thing, it expands beyond control. I don’t know if it’s simply the environment (the music, employees, etc.) or the fact that they have samples that you can play with all over the place, but I feel like a kid in a candy store when I’m in there.
I haven’t always been makeup obsessed though. I was never one to wear makeup at all until about 2 years ago when a friend of mine did my makeup. MAN did she wake up a MONSTER!
Sephora has become the encyclopedia for makeup for me in most cases. If I’m looking for something, Sephora more than likely has it. I go in there so much, that I went from Beauty Insider to VIB in a short time. I won’t say I’m an addict, but when I see the store, I have to stay away from it. OK?!? Cool!
Those curls though...
Being a hair and beauty blogger is really fun, but blogging alone is a LOT of work. It’s more than just your opinion a lot of the time. Sometimes there’s prior research that has to be done to make sure that what you’re saying is legit because remember, your credibility is on the line. Nobody wants to go to a website where everything is iffy. Plus, you could get in trouble legally if you post the wrong thing about someone or something. It’s a little deeper than getting free stuff to try and talk about. Shooo… most of the time, I come out of my own pockets to get most of the stuff to stay current and keep my readers informed on the hottest new thing.
A Tad About Me!
Hello! My name is Diamond and I looove hair, makeup, and beauty. I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Marketing (I’m almost done!) and I work part-time in retail. To add on to my busy life, I’m also the Hair & Beauty Blogger for “Mind of a Fashionista”. I’m pretty new to this blogging thing so bare with me, but I’m really starting to enjoy it! I’ve never been on Tumblr before now, but, this is a part of class so we’re going to see where this goes from here. I bought a planner to stay on track with all of this! Ha ha!
I’ve been inspired to go into the fashion world by one of my aunts. She was and still is someone I look up to for a lot of things and growing up, I saw her with her sewing machine create things from scratch. One of her greatest creations at the time was her senior prom dress. It was from then on that I knew that I wanted to do something that had to with being creative whether it was fashion or not, but I eventually got into the fashion side of creativity. I’ve always had the business mind as a kid growing up (hence my Fashion Marketing endeavors) so combining the two has been of the most pleasure.
A couple of facts about me:
*I loooove glitter!
*I’m the oldest sibling.
*I’ve been natural for 2 years.
*My hair has been blue since the end of December
