In this article I wanted to talk about a few things that can help make weight loss easier, more bearable or help you be more motivated and not give up because it can be a challenge, it can be difficult for some, more than for others just because we're all different individuals, some lazy, others competitive, etc.
So first I want to talk about intensity because I see many people spend a lot of time but lacking intensity in their workouts or exercises, wether it's lifting weights or running. After about 30 minutes or so your body loses a lot of fuel, energy and you're already tired, of course it's different for everyone but this is an estimation.
I don't spend more than 40 minutes in the gym because the first 30 minutes are the best and are essential because that is when you're at your peak in the gym and that is when you can lift the most or run the fastest or whatever so in my opinion it shouldn't be about how much time you spend on something but how focused you are and how hard you work for it, and this is even more true in losing weight or building muscle, basically what I am saying is you don't need to spend so much time and I hear many people saying they don't have time for being active. Well that's because you're doing it wrong, you don't need that much.
Second thing, avoid alcohol if you want to lose weight, avoid any beverage, even soda and other such drinks because they make you fat, I would only drink water and by the way, drink a lot of water, it's very healthy and it delays your hunger, dehydration is very bad for you and for your muscles. Coffee or caffeine pills are ok before a workout to give you some extra energy, I have both but don't use them together, it's up to you. Supplements are also a good way to lose weight faster or to improve your performance, they give your body more proteins which helps to build muscle and of course, strength and most of them are healthy and natural.
Third, control your food portions and what you eat, this should be obvious but just in case. Eat small portions and try to chew your food to little pieces before swallowing, I usually watch something while I eat, it helps because I tend to eat very fast and because of this, I eat more than I want to. If you have foods that are high in fat, throw them out, eat low-fat, lean meats, lots of proteins, lots of fiber, veggies, fruits. And I want to end it with some advice in regard to emotions because they're the reason why many give up, you get depressed and give up or you're too lazy, you have no motivation, this is actually, in my opinion, one of the biggest problems with weight loss because it requires a level of difficulty and difficulty always comes with some problems for many people, that's why so many hate math.
You have to find a way to enjoy working out, it can be music, it can be your friends, it can be turning it into a sport that you enjoy, otherwise if you don't enjoy it, it's going to be hard to stick to it, but I can';t tell you what that enjoyment is for you. If you enjoy it or you do something that makes you want to lose the weight or gain muscle, you will be more determined and motivated to do it.
