I normally never do this,
But I wanted to blog about my disability. When I was a child I broke my right and dominant arm, and because the cast wasn’t correct the broken bone grew incorrectly and not into the socket. After a considerable surgery, I was left with a plate and 4 screws in my arm.
I did not attend physical therapy for long, and my parents were neglectful in regular check-ups. Due to this, my arm is now in considerable pain nearly all the time. I have a really hard time doing some of the physical labour associated with my job, and when I’m drawing there is often times when my hand gives up and just drops my pen or paintbrush when making art.
I’ve got a bit of a lean to one side, and scars, and varied mobility when it comes to my right arm; I work on it constantly and it’s gotten better over the last 2 years now.
It’s likely I’ll need more surgeries going forward, but I’m trying to stay positive about it and the possibility of it feeling normal again. Being a disabled artist has never really held me back, but having any kind of visibility has been a challenge as well. I’m still not sure how to deal with it all, honestly!
so we finally uncovered the mirror wall in the trap house, and it COMPLETELY clashes with the pastel. which is a kind brilliant, as we’re chasing out a roommate who frankly sucks and really loves the ugly palette of the house. she’s gotta’ fucking go, as I need to pick out a nice white to paint every single wall in the house.Â
I honestly just refuse to live somewhere ugly.Â
and I’ve become a person who has to pick between Mother of Pearl or Abbey White.Â
