Campiello del Remer, sestiere Cannaregio.
(English / Español Italiano)
The Campiello del Remer is a picturesque and quaint Venetian spot, nestled amongst splendid Venetian-style buildings. Its name derives from the fact that there used to be a number of workshops there that made oars for gondolas. It is situated near the Rialto Bridge and looks directly out onto the Grand Canal.

Venice Carnival, Italy: The Carnival of Venice is an annual festival held in Venice, Italy, famous throughout the world for its elaborate costumes and masks. The Carnival ends on Shrove Tuesday, which is the day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. According to legend, the Carnival of Venice began after the military victory of the Venetian Republic over the patriarch of Aquileia, Ulrich II, in the year 1162. In honour of this, the people started to dance and gather in St Mark's Square. It lasts for 10 days, usually starting at the end of January or beginning of February. Masks have always been an important feature of the Venetian Carnival. Wikipedia

Interno di Palazzo Cavalli - Franchetti, s.XV.
(English / Español / Italiano)
Since 1999, it has been the headquarters of the Venetian Institute of Sciences, Letters and Arts and regularly hosts art exhibitions of international significance.
The Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti is not a university open to everyone, but an elite academy. Its members are selected from amongst the most distinguished scholars, scientists and literary figures. Its activities are divided into several areas:
Scientific Research, Preservation of Memory, Awards and Scholarships, Public Outreach.
The Institute is one of Italy’s most prestigious and oldest academic institutions. Whilst Palazzo Franchetti is its striking ‘shell’, the Institute is its intellectual heart.
Historically, the Institute was also responsible for monitoring and determining the exact time for the city and for managing tide levels – a vital role for a city that lives in harmony with the water.
In short, the Istituto Veneto acts as a ‘bridge’ linking Venice’s glorious humanist tradition with the technological and scientific challenges of the future.

The Gallerie dell'Accademia
The museum is located on the south bank of the Grand Canal in the Dorsoduro sestiere (neighborhood). It sits right at the foot of the Ponte dell'Accademia, the famous wooden bridge that offers one of the most iconic sweeping views of the canal looking toward the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute.
The Neoclassical entrance was designed by architect Giannantonio Selva (who also designed Venice's famous La Fenice opera house) and completed in the early 19th century by his student Francesco Lazzari to unify the structures when they were repurposed to house the Academy of Fine Arts and its collection.
Today, the Gallerie dell'Accademia is the most important museum for Venetian painting in the world, holding masterpiece collections spanning from the 14th to the 18th centuries.
It is also the permanent home of Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic drawing, the Vitruvian Man (though it is only rarely displayed to the public to protect it from light damage).
