“Ummmm!” the sound choked out of her throat. Only when no one else was around. Only when nobody else could hear her. Fingers tapped along each other right beneath her chin and she hunched forward like a rabbit about to burrow. “Mmm,” she glanced away from him with a stilted nod. 

A rare gentle smile graced the robot’s face, as he knelt down to the child’s height. He could see the panic across Frisk’s face and MTT never wished to make them uncomfortable.

She didn’t have a voice that she could belt out on command and hit high notes. Besides, she wasn’t the diva but she did know a songbird. Lips pressed against her tiny hands and she swung her shoulders as she hummed docilely to no one in particular. 

Catching her making any kind of noise was horribly rare. She only stopped once she realized she wasn’t by herself and her hands dropped and she stumbled away from the source of the noise with a quiet gasp. 

A small gasp escaped the robot - what SUBTLETY ! It was positively adorable and MTT couldn’t believe that HE DIDN’T CATCH IT SOONER.
