Sam moved around the music store, putting things back in order alphabetically and by genre. And with a town of tasteless hacks, things got out of order really fast. “Okay! Which idiot put Fever 333 next to The Black Keys?”
“i wish i could tell you, but i didn’t see anyone else in here, sorry!” belle paused. “but it wasn’t me, i swear.” she was just looking for music to play in her bookshop.
“So I’m making pancakes tonight,” she started, staring down at the fruit batches before her. The farmer’s market was always the best place to go when she wanted to add a little something extra to her breakfast for dinner meals. “Should I stick with the classic blueberry add-ins? Or do I go for something more adventurous like strawberries or raspberries? Or do I keep the pancakes plain and just get all the fruit and add it on top?” So many options, Poppy wasn’t sure what to do, but hopefully anyone standing near her would help her make a decision.
“or you could make a few of each?” belle suggested with a smile. “pancakes sound delicious, though! breakfast for dinner is always a good idea.”

“Maybe,” Mason agreed with a shrug. He didn’t really care either way where the princess was. It was a sad story and he felt bad for her parents, but his life wouldn’t really be impacted either way if she stayed missing or was somehow found this year. “Probably. I haven’t done one since I was younger and my whole family lit them together.”
“that would be nice, then. i always love camping out on a hill and watching all of the lanterns fly up. it really is a beautiful sight.”

“I don’t know how to explain to people in simpler terms that eating a whole bottle of gummy vitamins doesn’t mean they’re super healthy now. But, I am a little concerned how often this question has come up at work lately.”
“i think people just have wishful thinking on that one. but, i have to imagine it’s a little funny and a lot annoying, though.”

Boo turned her head to scan all of the books on the shelves as she followed Belle’s lead. She couldn’t help but admire the beautiful designs on some of the hard cover books. Belle speaking up had grabbed her attention once again. She smiled and reached out to take the book. “This is it, thank you!” It looked like her assignment had been saved after all. “Do you have any other ones similar or is this the only one?”
“of course!” she smiled and stepped back to scan the books, pulling a few more off of the shelves. “i think these should work. if not, just come back and exchange them.”

“It’s no book club that’s for sure,” Blossom said, mentally smacking herself in the head for her lame joke. “I…that would be pretty cool and all. But I should let them have fun. I don’t need them calling me a wet blanket or some sort of profanity. Thank you for the offer though.”
“no, it’s not.” she laughed. “at least, not one i would run anyway. but maybe while you wait for them, you can dance a little bit! you don’t have to drink to have fun at a party.”

“it’s impossible, really. the offer’s just too tempting,” vanellope found herself agreeing, holding up her own shot as if to suggest they cheers. “bottoms up!” she lifted the glass to her lips and took the shot easily, wiping the corner of her mouth as she smirked, “just what i need to get through this damn party, she really did invite the whole island, huh?”
“you’re telling me.” she grinned and clinked her shot glass against vanellope’s before drinking it. she made a face as it went down, but it felt good. “she really did. it looks like everyone i’ve ever even seen is here.”

“well, i can’t say no to a free shot.” belle shrugged and took it. it had been a while since she had drank this much, and she’ll probably regret it in the morning, but for now she pushed the thought out of her mind. “bottoms up!”
