I was joking about the competence kink, ok?!?!?! Please fucking stop sending competent assholes my way, it's tiring and the most competent one looks like fucking Brezhnev had a child with jimmy neutron and I'm stressed that not even this is making me disgusted
Back on my moldova politics trash talk !!!1!1!
Normally I would trash talk all the parties, because there is room to drag every single one of them, however. The last few (??) days I've been thinking about a way to reform my party (? I'm not a member, but I feel like I'm the most rational ~youth~ member there?) so, here's the catch:
The current youth wing president (which I don't like because he's an arrogant asshole who doesn't want to do anything but expects everyone to sing him praises) proposed a party motion that during the next elections in each district/locality on the party lists one of the first 3 candidates would be someone from the youth wing. It's bogus because we don't have normal adults loyal to the cause with a normal understanding of the local authority framework and you want to bring in arrogant teenagers who don't know how things work without any preparation? Yeah, it's a no from me, especially after I saw the absolute trash drama that happened during the last parliamentary elections because of teens.
So, my solution is basically a total reformation of how the youth wing works I don't think anyone would be ok with this but my job is to propose, if they chose to ignore the optimal solution then their loss I guess.
Anyways, here's the bat shit crazy plan, basically I want to form a list of every possible youth candidate from the country and prepare them in order to select the ones who will basically perform best while allowing all of them to form a bond and learn about the local authority framework and become a part of different little teams specialized in various topics.
So, it's basically a Bootcamp with two vectors of curriculum that happen at the same time, everyone learns about the legislation and electoral part as part of the first trajectory, while the second vector entails splitting everyone into teams based on their specializations, so education, culture, agriculture etc etc, basically forming teams of well-bonded specialists.
In my head it sounds great, in practice, this would be the worst thing possible
I need to vent somewhere, and my "friends" don't use tumblr, so I guess here it is.
I've always had trouble with saying no. The only reason I didn't do the undoable in 2016 was that my life wasn't my own and a few people invested in me too much not to see the results, so basically I made a pact with myself that I would wait until 35 to do the thing and if then I still want to do it then just go for it. I had a plan and everything to detach myself from anyone who would feel even remotely bad about me dying.
Fast forward to 2022, I'm unable to say no and hurt other people, no matter how bad I feel from doing whatever they want. I avoid confrontations and generally being alone with people I don't feel comfortable with just in case. I went out with my friends(??) and an ... acquaintance walked me home and said that he is interested in me romantically. And you know the absolutely yucky feeling you have when someone you don't like comes on too strong and doesn't let you say no? Yeah. Even had the whole spiel that he understands that I want to work on myself and my mental health and so on, but we should give it a try. I'm trying to let him down easy but isn't working and I had to say that I'll think about it.
For the past two days I've been in a highly depressive episode, one bad enough that it caused a panic attack because I understood I'll be having ~those intentions~, so my mental state wouldn't allow me to send a message to even my best friends, let alone a guy who doesn't take no for an answer. And here comes bomb nr. 2: "I know you said you're busy with work but I know you're intentionally ignoring me and I don't appreciate it, because I wanted to talk with you before an important procedure etc etc" So I'm already 9 levels deep into hell, feeling like the worst human that ever existed on the planet, but why not make the depressed girl you apparently like feel bad despite knowing that for me it's fucking hard to put myself above others and knowing that someone feels bad because of me can throw me into a depressive state faster than anything.
I'm tired, I just want to disappear and not feel like I'm going to throw up every 5 minutes because of how horrible I am
a moment of silence please for the russian cybersecurity division. just six years ago they successfully rigged the american presidential election and now they can't even rig eurovision
because this is an issue I made a list of countries' entries that had political themes (intentional or not) either ingrained in the song or in the presentation with the particular political theme in parenthesis:
2022: Albania (LGBTQA+), Australia (LGBTQA+), Cyprus (LGBQA+), Estonia (he performed this song in support of Ukraine at a rally), France (Diversity, but there are others considering they sing in Breton), Iceland (Peace, LGBTQA+, etc), Israel (LBTQA+), Italy (LGBTQA+), Latvia (going green), Malta (accepting diversity), Moldova (local geopolitics), Netherlands (mental health), Serbia (health care), Switzerland (sexism), Ukraine (current geopolitical situation)
2021: Albania (religious themes), Australia (Diversity), Austria (religious themes), Azerbaijan (feminism), Bulgaria (mental health), Cyprus (religious themes), Finland (anarchistic themes), Germany (I diversity), Israel ("set me free" representing Israel, do I need to say more?), Italy (diversity), Latvia (feminism), Malta (feminism), Netherlands (culture and diversity), Norway (religious themes), Romania (mental health), Russia (diversity and feminism), Slovenia (religious themes), Sweeden (Refugees), Ukraine (importance of folklore)
And that's just two years, if I ever have more free time I'll add other years. Feel free to add if I forgot some
Okay, thank you so much for the clarification. The video I saw it was just him with that gesture so you would understand why I was mad. Thank you for taking your time, not like the other idiots that the first thing they did was insult other people
No problem, I'll still leave the video (of the Kalush rapper) and photo (of the polish delegate) here so people would see for themselves that it's not true.
Explanation: his hand is clearly right above his head at the beginning, so there's no way for it to be a nazi salute.
the polish delegate is obviously doing a peace sign, but the position of the camera and the way they are cropped is obscuring the full hand and people may think it's a nazi salute in the end
apparently proving that Poland's jury votes announcer didn't do a nazi salute is enough to get yourself banned by some people
Anyway Europe you voted for fucking Nazi's, hope you are happy with that
ok so here's a nazi salute
here's what kalush were doing after their performance:
here is pretty clear, fist other their heart
The rapper in the pink bucket hat is doing a peace sign upright so no nazi salute (there is a moment when he lowers his hand and turns around when it looks slightly like a nazi salute but he is literally lowering his hand still in a peace sign and there is no way to avoid it seeming like that because of the screen behind them), and the carpet-man is pointing with his index fingers so also no nazi salute
Another relaxed hand straight up so no nazi salute and the flute player sold his flute up so no way of nazi saluting.
the rest of the gestures are easily distinguished from the salute so I don't really see a need to explain them
Again, I mean after the performance.
This one:
which was also replicated by the polish spokeswoman when giving the 12 points to ukraine
Ok also I rewatched the jury votes and you can see that the polish representative actually does a peace sign that got cropped ina bat way
the amount of confusion, after this I really believe there has to be an explanation for that screenshot
right, I've found the clip and slowed it down so we can see what happened there, basically a bad shot at a bad time, because in the integral clip you can see that he raises his had above his head, and the lowering is just slow enough that it would seem like a nazi salute is you crop the beggening out
Anyway Europe you voted for fucking Nazi's, hope you are happy with that

On Tuesday and Thursday people cried that the juries ruined everything and shouldn't exist, because Albania and San Marino didn't qualify. Now some of the same people are saying "Ukraine winning is proof of why we need juries". You can't just have it both ways. If you think that both the juries and the public are wrong, it sure sounds like you think you alone should get to decide who wins.
the eurovision song contest was created in the 1950s to form indissoluble bonds between formerly warring european countries. it has ALWAYS been about reconstruction and peace, at its very core. the singing contest is a pretext, and when you tune in to watch the esc you tacitly accept a good chunk of the voting is political (as it always has been). to say ukraine's win defeats the whole point and credibility of the contest is not only factually wrong, but also entirely absurd. if politics are the reigning force behind eurovision, i'd rather they give a well-deserved win and just a tiny bit of happiness to a brutalized country whose culture has been in peril for years.
No but the first one to say Ukraine won out of something else but sheer perfection, you don't understand. There are rules. As stated by the rules, Ukraine checked a lot of boxes:
A powerful, majestic start, maybe battle horn of some kind?
using an old traditional folklore instrument
adding a DJ who pretends to scratch breakdancer (in real life of course, this is thirty years old but in Eurovision, it will give your number a contemporary feel)
Costumes! You need to look memorable, something that the viewers will notice
Something everyone can connect to (love works, or motherhood can)
You can break the rules of fashion and your chance to win shall grow
Make it unforgettable and you will be the best and win the Eurovision Song Contest!
i think its absolutely beautiful that Ukraine won. Because while Russia spouts all this propaganda that Ukraine is not a country and is russian, denying them national autonomy, Ukraine wins the most european event that is all about nationality and solidarity, being supported by people from all over Europe.
Sympathy? Guys, the only other song in the top 5 that could compete with Stefania was In corpore sano, but it isn’t as catchy. Space man is a super basic pop song. Chanel is a great performer, but ESC is a song contest, not a dance one (and besides, Kalush Orchestra’s show was even better than Chanel’s in my opinion). You really think that the musically bland booty hypnotic song is better than a folk-hip hop song about nostalgia for a mother, with a super remarkable refrain and an iconic flute tune?
If Ukraine didn’t win, the winner would have been Space Man, and Stefania is simply better.
PS: I’m happy Serbia got a lot of public votes, and sad about Moldova, Norway and France cause they deserved better. I hope the countries wont go back to basic pop or boring ballads in english after seeing that the national juries always vote for that kind of songs and rarely for traditional and creative ones.
