Living armors are hermaphrodites, the concept of gender and gender roles is unknown to them naturally. Over years as they interact with others they have picked up some things, nowadays it is up to individuals if they prefer pronouns or gendered language applied to themselves.

While they may lose a lot of their mimic traits as adults, they are still capable of manipulating their form gradually to try and appear more masculine, feminine or ambiguous if desired. If an armor wants to be more feminine physically, their body will slowly morph to try and get the armors desired form. Basically if they wish and think of it long enough it will happen, hips will wider, chests can broaden, breastplates will round out, all that jazz.

A armors concept of gender is often heavily influenced by the surrounding species around them. A armor who is around humans a lot may have differing ideas vs one around dwarves or orcs.
