“It takes a long time to make love with someone who hates themselves.”
— Buddy Wakefield
“When I ask you about your first love I am always secretly hoping that you will say your own name. Now, wouldn’t that be beautiful – to above else have a heart that was proud of itself.”
— Bianca Sparacino
Raise your hand if you’re straddling the line between crippling anxiety and not giving any fucks about anything
“I don’t care anymore, but sometimes, it hurts just a little.”
— Taya
“I do not miss childhood, but I miss the way I took pleasure in small things, even as greater things crumbled. I could not control the world I was in, could not walk away from things or people or moments that hurt, but I took joy in the things that made me happy.”
— Neil Gaiman
I DON’T CARE HOW MANY TIMES I’VE REBLOGGED THIS IT WILL NEVER END
I literally waited one year to post this shit again
What a great way to spend a Sunday: visiting the Museum. Especially if there's a special exhibition about the plague. 😏 Absolutely fascinating and also artistically presented. Well worth a visit! And as u can see, Ghost is also a part. 😁 Furthermore: the main exhibition is really good as well. I particularly liked the way, they displayed the change from celtic/germanic beliefs to catholic religion. #pest #plague #plaguedoctor #plaguemask #pestmask #doctorschnabel #ghost #prequelle #gothgirl #gothgoth #redhair #redhairdontcare #alternativegirl #museum #specialexhibition #art #peft (hier: LWL-Museum für Archäologie, Westfälisches Landesmuseum Herne) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4KM5O-Il-l/?igshid=1rkdw36qd8m9i
Serendipity saying it how it is
(Dogma, 1999)
Always reblog Dogma.
i hear her but alllll the women she mentioned only asked the man for something. the men are the ones that comply.
adam sinned and the world changed not when eve did.
delilah wasn’t responsible for samson losing his strength, him seeing his power coming from his hair and not God is what made him sin.
the women asked for the head but Herod was the one that cut it.
all women did was ask, these women showed the true character of the men around them.
Damn sis

So I was exploring #Google’s Arts & Culture app and the #selfie is a brilliant way to allow people to engage more with artworks. Sadly, I could not find my art doppelganger as my location does not allow the feature. However, I know my doppelganger is Gustav Adolf Mossa’s Elle. Here is she is all her unscrupulous glory, the femme fatale, Elle #app #art #culture
I received a message which asked to expand more on this painting and what is symbolises.
Gustav Adolf Mossa, Elle, 1905, Oil and gilt on canvas, 80 x 63 cm, Musée des Beaux-Arts, Nice
Depicting the epitome of 19th century beauty, Elle has milky white skin and a curvaceous figure. However upon closer inspection, Mossa has included stark clues which make Elle a lethal beauty. Her necklace is embellished with murderous weapons: pistol, dagger, and poison capsule. Elle’s head is crowned by a halo, inscribed with a quote from the Roman poet Juvena “hoc volo, sic jubeo, sit pro ratione voluntas.” “What I want, I order, my will is reason enough.” Here, it highlights, the capricious nature of the femme fatal, she is not driven by a logical motive, a reaction to something. Instead, she behaves so, she crushes the mount of corpses, because she simply wants to. The murderess’ legs show bloody imprints of her victims’ hands, a testament to her erratic devastation. Her eyes too, while holding the viewer’s gaze, are impassive, contrasting with the bloody contortions of dead beneath her. Next to skulls are two ravens are sitting on her head. Since medieval times these scavengers are considered birds of death. However, in Nordic mytholgy, the ravens Huginn (from Old Norse “thought”) and Muninn (Old Norse “memory"or “mind”) fly all over the world, Midgard, and bring information to the god Odin. They are keepers of knowledge and secrets, simillar to the pre-Christian symbolism of the snake. Elle depicts another animal; a black cat in her lap. The black cat, associated best with witchcraft and ill-fortune, symbolises the dark nature female sexuality, as well as the Elle being a keen, nocturnal huntress. ©TheMacabreNBold
