He expected the reaction he was getting. What he was doing was reckless and foolish but yet he’d still gone through with it. Multiple times. Not something to brag about considering the little time spent knowing the stranger in their midst. He’d known Becca was nervous about the woman, especially when Russell insisted the night before of laying with her to try and keep her from freezing further through the night. He’d genuinely been doing it as a means of kindness to the silver-haired woman. He’d definitely not expected it to turn into what it did, but it had and there was no taking it back. Or what he said to her and the promises he’d made. Promises he’d have to bring up to Becca and hope she understood or gave thought to.

“Girlfriend? It’s–” he cut off as she spoke about the oatmeal, lips quirking a little in amusement at her frustration. He knew he shouldn’t find it funny at all, but the girl had some good quips when it came to certain situations. “We ain’t runnin’ nothin’, Becs.” He rapped his knuckles against the table, sighing, “But we are makin’ room for her. We got more than enough food and space to take her in.”

HER EYEBROW REMAINS RAISED, watching him tread water in the hole he has dug for himself. she’s unable to stop the SNORT that comes from her nose at his final sentence, shaking her head.

Russell had managed to slip out from under Felicia as she slept so he could dress and leave the cabin to gather more wood for the woodstove. He was outside for no more than a few minutes before returning only to give pause as he entered the cabin. Becca was awake. Awake and sitting at the dinning room table like a parent who just caught their kid doing something they shouldn’t. He stared at her for a few moments before scoffing a sound and making his way to the woodstove. He set the pile he’d collected down beside it then raised his hands to warm them. Quietly he rubbed them together, waiting for her to say something first but the longer time passed and the quieter it seemed to get beyond the wind howling outside– he became unnerved. She knew. That look he’d seen on her face when he walked into the cabin said it all and the silence of waiting for Russell to speak first said it even more.

She knew damn well what he’d been up to that morning with their houseguest. A houseguest who had only been there several hours and they knew absolutely nothing about. Well, sort of. Russell knew her name. Knew where she had lived before all of this. Knew… well, he didn’t want to add what she liked in bed to that list, but he did know that. God he was a bit of a mess in this situation wasn’t he? There was no wiggling his way out of it, especially with Becca sat right there. He owed her something beyond a morning greeting. So he stood and shed himself of his jacket before moving to sit down across from her. He ran a hand through his hair debating what to say before finally settling on something as his hand fell to the table, “Her name’s Felicia. She originally lived in New York before all of this went to hell.” He looked across the table, eyeing the young adult, “Don’t give me that look, Becs.”

SHE HAD HARDLY SLEPT. their newest visitor had given her a lot of anxiety. for the longest time, it had just been her and russell, especially after leaving DAVID AND JUDY . becca had been forced to grow up quickly in this new world, learning to not easily give her TRUST away, and having someone new, an overnight guest , was riddling her with anxiety. plus, it seemed like russell was pretty keen on her, from the sounds that she tried to muffle out.

she had already started a fire in the woodstove to warm their small little cabin after giving up being in bed, watching him step out to get more wood and set it near the stove. what he was doing was RECKLESS , she thought, and it seemed like her expression was giving it away.

“ so, what, you got a GIRLFRIEND now or somethin’? ” becca muttered before stuffing her spoonful of oatmeal into her mouth. “ hope she likes oats. i made enough for her on the stove. since we’re apparently a BED AND BREAKFAST now or whatever. ”

i’m going to work on her full dossier tonight, but some things for you to know about becca :

in t.he c.razies canon, she’s seventeen. this will also be her starting point for her twd verse. her age range, depending on the verse, is 17 - 27 ( verse & timeline dependent ). more details about a timeline / verses will be included in the dossier. they’re currently being fleshed out !

in her twd verse, she arrives at alexandria AFTER @deputyclank. after david and judy have their baby, becca spends a few years on the road, considering traveling from her home state of iowa to virginia is not an easy trip in the apocalypse. she’s mostly been on her own, bouncing from small group to small group, until she finds alexandria. but russ is a brother figure to her, even when she was working at the clinic.

because she shadowed judy, she learned lots about basic first aid and continued to study medicine on her own while on the road. on top of medical practices, she’s also developed natural, homeopathic methods when supplies run short.

she’ll probably have non-apocalyptic verses too but my brain is tired. these may just be developed as needed for the partner, but i imagine she would have gone to medical school at some point to be a family practitioner like judy.
