Vaseline Intensive Repair Lotion

I have completely slacked due to this being holiday season BUT I received a Vaseline Voxbox from Influenster! I was sent Vaseline Intensive Repair lotion to review but my opinions are honest, as always.

Included in the box was a full size lotion and a card that displayed before and after (as seen in photo). Being that I live in Central/Western NY my skin was quite dry, shown by all the white in the top black circle.

Would I have purchased this for myself before receiving the box? No.

Would I now? Yes.

As I said, my skin gets very dry due to my location therefor I have tried MANY lotions and even thrown some away out of disappointment. This lotion moisturizes without the heavy, residue feeling which is amazing. I noticed nearly immediately that this lotion didn't have the greasy feeling that many other lotions leave. It definitely isn't the lightest lotion but they even say that on their front label.

This is a great 'all over' lotion but not the best thing I've found for my chapped, raw hands which happen in the winter from the cold and the MANY hand washes that take place during the work week. So, I will keep this lotion for arms, legs, etc but stick with a cream for my hands. If you'd like to know what I use, just ask!

New Lay’s flavors are out!  The new flavors last year included Cheese Lobster and Pepsi Marinated Chicken Wings.  I recently asked my older students what they would want to cook for a big meal like Thanksgiving if they could cook anything they wanted and one girl totally wrote “I would like to try cooking chicken wings in pepsi”…why is this a thing!!!  Sadly there aren’t any bizarre recipes for anyone to follow this year…just adorable names and more seafood (ack!):

So far I’ve only tried the Wildly Grilled flavor…which tastes exactly like barbeque…with unnecessary adverbs…I refuse to put seafood potatoes in my mouth so don’t expect a review of those three…sweetie flavor sounds like a dream though…may follow up on that one ：)

Okay. I picked these up thinking that on days that I don't have breakfast (and let's face it lunch) they might be a good thing to grab quickly. Well, I just tried one and all I can say is SWEET. I am by NO means a "health nut" but, in my opinion, these over did it and I was left reaching for my water.

Maybe I'll make premade granola/trail-mix bags?

"A little more than half of students nationwide are enrolled in a physical education class, and by high school only a third take gym class daily, according to the National Association for Sport and Physical Education." Well, there you have it I guess. What a poor state are we in that nobody KNEW that cutting PE/gym was a bad idea? Children eat a lot of processed, sugary foods these days but do we really have to exacerbate the problem? They probably crave sugar, are doing WORSE in school and I'm sure aggression is on the rise from all of this nonsense! Pour garbage into the children, demand they sit through a full day of school (which I couldn't do as an adult) and expect that to not blow up in one way or another... good luck. .... those poor kids

I don't know if you can really say what is going to happen in 2030, humans are able to change and I see it all over. There are far more people talking about healthy ways to eat now instead of fad diets. Many daytime cooking shows talk about substitutions you can make if you want more grain, fiber, less calories, etc. I know some people aren't going to care but give us a chance before you pass judgment. Second it's based on BMI, seriously? Do I have to say anything else? Alright, I do have a MAJOR problem with any school that is cutting physical education/gym classes and/or recess(for the littles). What do they expect to happen?! Kids NEED that time to exercise! Some of them are just going home after school and sitting on a couch or, worse, taking on the household duties because their parents are unavailable. Do you really think all of the kids in our school-systems are able to put on a coat and play in some plush, green yard? No. School should give them a chance to play with their friends at least, get away from schoolwork and get their bodies moving. Concentration levels in schools without PE must be ridiculous by the end of the day. I wonder if there have been studies on both schoolwork and anger management throughout the day. As far as the government sticking their fingers in what adults are able to drink/eat? Are you kidding me?! Did I move back in with my Mother?? "You will eat what's in front of you, nothing else until it's gone!"

Very cool stuff! I definitely want to check out the “cover blubber” which will replace plastic/seran/cling wrap (in case people haven’t heard of the covers). Perhaps the Quick Whip too.. mmmm.

Opened VoxBox!!! I can’t wait to try the goody spin pins and the “not your mother’s” hair cream! I already know I like bath and body works but I don’t have experience with their candles and we’ll see about the smell, I’m actually glad I got a scent that I wouldn’t normally buy! There’s also a coupon for another candle so I know I’ll end up with a candle I love no matter what! mmm smells like Autumn

The goody spinpin! After a long day of car shopping I went with my fiancée to work, put my hair up in the goody spinpin and viola messy-bun! I do happen to have long, thick hair so I ran out and bought another spinpin to hold it all up. I had been looking at these for a while but was CONVINCED they would get caught in my hair and/or just plain not work. I was soooo wrong! These are great for a girl-on-the-go! I, personally, stick with a bun.. messy or neat BUT you can get all sorts of creative! The price was a little steep for my teeny budget but I’m a well-known coupon-cutter, penny-pincher so you may disagree! I say go for it! #bloggervoxbox

isn’t interesting when things show up at the right time in life? It’s been a particularly stressful week as I’ve lost someone who impacted my life significantly and, for some reason, it pulled the rug out from under me even though his health hasn’t been top-notch for nearly a year. Anyway, I’ve been trying not to bring my baggage to work but that’s easier said than done and a frazzled Nanny of a preschooler is never a good thing. Everyone take a deep breath. Perhaps a step back. Hopefully the weekend is full of rest.

The Taste: Tuesday at 8|7c on ABC

The ABC network is now airing a show called "The Taste" which is "The Voice" meets cooking show. The four "Judges" (Anthony Bourdain, Brian Malarkey, Nigella Lawson and Ludovic Lefebvre) first did spoonful blind "taste" tests without seeing who made the food and picked what food they enjoyed (and dismissed the chefs/homecooks of the food they didn't like... and made some mistakes... hey, a spoonful isn't much to go on!) and asked the person that made the food to join their kitchen/team.

Anyway. It's an enjoyable show so far with a lot of banter between the judges, great one-liners from judges and contestants alike, a "villain" contestant, and many "homecooks" who have beat out the professional chefs which is a breath of fresh air for this average-jane!
