You'd think pokemon gender roles are simpler because there's little emphasis on genitals and nearly everyone uses it/its but it's more complicated actually

Oh it is intentional! While I can't claim much experience since my system is only 3 people large, the concept of a group of personalities functioning as a unit with seperate tasks they're predisposed to is easy enough to get.

These roles don't map 1:1 on commonly understood system roles (the role of persecutor is split between provider and herder, for example) (note how the description for those are neutral to positive) (never say that I don't have an agenda), but they are my speculation of how pokemon, with their slightly different worldview, would label and divide tasks as if they're parts in a system

I really liked the pokemon social roles post by @bedrock-to-buildheight so I made some posts illustrating how Pepper's "team" functions

outside of Litten, all the pokemon are uncaught and their pride is held together by convenience. social groups like this form naturally in urban areas (see, Lumiose) but it's a unusual for a human to be considered a member of the group instead of as a trainer

Pepper is special because she's super good at mimicking behavior and has a strong grasp on pokemon social structures (the same cannot be said for human social structures) so she kind of just... blends in

I mean he probably gonna pop up from time to time but I don't want to get deep into his story, because people will inevitably ask about Silver and the other villains and I don't really care about those + it distracts from the Mewtwo

I do have one (1) drawing of Lance tho! It's for a piece on Champions and mentorship in the future

Woe, fucked up childhood upon Giovanni

Giovanni's the type of person who, in his childhood, was given a cubone by his mom, who fully intend for him to get fed up with such a fussy pokemon and get turned off pokemon training altogether.

And he came home one day saying it ran off and his mom (canonical pokemon hater) reassures him that it's not his fault and pokemon leaves because it's what they do. He in turn would shrug it off saying he doesn't like it anyways so it's fine.

Cut to a bridge over the water and a dog leash tied to the railing, the other end submerged.

(One of the pokemon he has in the game is a Kangaskhan, which could mean anything)
