Paralian
A young girl sitting by the waves,
Wanted her life to be better.
She made a wish on some debris, threw it out to the sea,
And missed the water by a little.
"If the waves reach you," she said with hope saturating her voice,
"My wish will come true, like it's meant to be."
The waves raged and crashed,
Creeping closer towards the debris, but never made it's way there.
The closer they crept, the more she hoped,
Though she knew it was all a fantasy and the waves didn't care.
She knew this in her heart,
Yet she returned every night.
Living like a paralian hoping in plain sight
That the waves would come around and reach her debris,
"Come on," she said, "Please believe in me."
“I needed to be somewhere different. Maybe I needed to be someone different, too.”

once you've met someone, you never really forget them.
