IN MEMORY OF MICHAEL MANTENUTO (May 31, 1981–April 24, 2017)
Link to leave condolences for his family and friends
“Mantenuto stepped on the ice, got hacked, and his hockey instincts took over. “This kid says, ‘What are you gonna do, pretty boy?’ So I drop my gloves,” says Mantenuto. “I end up getting in a fight, and kicking his ass pretty badly. And, in slow motion, I look over at Gavin and I think, ‘Oh, s**t, they’re gonna throw me out of here.’ And Gavin has this huge smile on his face. I came off the ice and apologized, and Gavin said, ‘No, that was great.’” – Inspired Ink
“It was his father, Ed, who taught Mantenuto, a former Division I college hockey player, to skate. It was his father who fueled his love for hockey. So it came as a blow to the family when Ed Mantenuto suffered a near-fatal stroke more than a decade ago, leaving him temporarily paralyzed and robbing him of the ability to speak for three years. Eleven years later, he is walking and talking again. And Michael Mantenuto, in his first role in a major motion picture, is winning accolades for his acting and athleticism.” – Boston News
“I just heard that Michael Mantenuto passed away. I am very sad… God rest his beautiful soul.” – Jack O’Callahan
My anxiety: somethings off
Me: how so?
Anxiety: somethings wrong
Me: what
Anxiety: something
Me: like can you give me a general idea
Anxiety: somethings off
“I was a hat stall three times in a row. Hufflepuff and Slytherin. All my friends said ‘Choose Slytherin.’ And I said no. I chose Hufflepuff because it takes courage and wisdom and cunning to show loyalty and be honest. To uphold Helga’s values I have to be everything that the other houses are, and more. It takes wisdom to see when you made a mistake, courage to admit it, and ambition to try try try again and get it right.” - my retort.
I think they got it right though. We are nobodies leftovers. We are Hufflepuffs, and we are mighty. You hurt one of us, the whole set will be out for blood.
I really enjoy Adam Scott struggling not to smile at Amy Poehler’s hilarity.

baking with a group of people who you get on with so well, and that you really feel proud of when they really do well, is just amazing.
gbbo + contestants helping/supporting each other (part 1)
This is why GBBO is the only reality competition program I am able to watch - everyone is so supportive of their fellow competitors and are so happy for each other when they do well and comfort each other when they don’t. I think Sue, and in later seasons Mel as well, are such a big reason for it because they start and end each round with terrible puns and crack jokes at the expense of the judges, diffusing nerves and tension within the bakers. They also offer clear and obvious support to the bakers, offering to help carry the bakes to the judges’ table, comforting them when things go wrong, encouraging the same behaviour from the bakers. They make the point that in this competition they build each other up, rather than tear each other down, unlike any other competition based show I’ve ever seen. This makes the show a joy to watch.
