Realized I never posted these here!

I wanted to do a design challenge for myself where I drew popular Minecraft YouTuber skins from 2012 strictly based on the Minecraft skins,

I do admit I was a sheltered kid with restricted internet access so I wasn’t allowed to watch most of these YouTubers besides like two (being ihascupquake and chimneyswift11) so I was fairly blind going in.

I do plan on doing more, you are more than welcome to suggest any you want to see! OG YouTubers are preferred though :]

(I do have them separated to include their artist notes as well when designing them)

I have a headcanon that SOSMP!DanTDM is deceptively heavy. This works in the context of my design where Dan is thin but he’s made of diamond.

The other members discovered he was really heavy after a night at Squid’s pub. Dan drank too much and passed out. It took too many people to carry him back home

I had this exact same headcanon because my design of him is the exact same. Now that I think about it that hc carries into all of the aus Ive made of him (whale sharks are heavy as shit, he’s an android in the KOG au, etc)

To me it’s actually why he fights with a sword instead of bare fist because he may bludgeon somebody without meaning to. It could also be why Kindness took MUCH longer to work into his body than she did Squid. Knowing how heavy he is is also scary in the context that he’s terrifyingly good at parkour tag AS THE TAGGER. You already know he’s got the most deceptive sleeper build from it.

On the flip side, Squid, being a Squid, thus an invertebrate, I think would be deceptively light. Literally anybody can carry him.

with all this in mind when it comes to drinking Dan being an ironic lightweight (more Diamond means less mass for regular body mass) and Squid being crazy good at holding his drink would be funny as hell.

hlvr fandom is one of the best places to have "Which Could Mean Nothing" theories and epiphanies and such. some joke always has a 50% chance of meaning absaloutely nothing 50% chance of being Most Important Plot Point Ever. it makes participating in stuff like theorising and aus and fanart and such particularly enjoyable to me. there is no two people who watch hlvr and left with the same conclusions or favourite moments or reasons why they like it. i really like that. every copy of hlvr is personalized
