I might have found out Wyll has a proposal scene, and I might be weak to that (specifically the wedding scene (mainly Alistair's and Cullen's), but I digress). So.. I'm going for it. And I found out he's fucking awkward, which means I fell a little more for him.
But tell me why this man has one of the top three slowest romances in bg3.
1. Halsin - Literally can't romance till act 3
2. Minthara - Can't fully romance till act 2 (unless you count the goblin party scene)
3. Wyll - Everyone has a few scenes per act he has one per.
WYLL, PLEASE. Anyway, Withers says, "Thou hast now a bosom-companion."
I need to get some thoughts out about River Ward's three quests in Cyberpunk 2077.
So spoilers ahead also mention of SA, trafficking and whatever else is a part of his quests.
To start off, a little context about my V, fem body, male voice, enough said. The only romantic interest I could do was River's, so I anticipated meeting this character. (I like romances in games, okay?)
First quest (I Fought The Law):
From the meeting with the soon to be mayor to him, giving V River's number was like any other quest. This quest was literally like any other. I don't have much thought, except I love it when the characters drive around and talk to you (although their driving scares me).
Second quest (The Hunt):
The way I felt disgusted. I read horror and listen to true crime, but the way I felt like I needed to step away from the game entirely. I feel bad for the character. The fact that he could have lost his nephew, the way I felt for this character. I felt the same way he did, find this guy, and hurt him. I felt so somber just finding those young men trafficked, made me sick.
Now, for a bit of lighthearted thoughts. A friend of mine told me he was awkward. Sure, he definitely dodges the question at times especially when his niece and nephew ask if he's dating V and his sister talking making it seem like they are, but during this quest he was nothing but professional.
Third quest (Following the River):
I was already in love with the family dynamic that was shown in the second quest and even more so now. River cares about his family, and they care about him. The way he spends his time with his niece and nephew, the way he told V to let them win. It was a nice change from Panam's chaos (which was the quest series I did before). And of course, sitting at the table for dinner and getting asked about if you had a partner is going to be awkward, but I liked it when he pulled V away to talk.
It was sweet that he gave V his gun, a signal of leaving his old life behind. And when it got to the flirting, it felt like he was more apprehensive than it was awkward. V just saw his most vulnerable side like two days before, and he didn't want V to see him driffently even if V rejected his advances.
And so with knowing I do like where this is going, I set off to the sex scene, and boy, was I not disappointed. The way he was the submissive one was such a change from the one time I said fuck it and paid a joytoy. I mean, come on, having a fem body, masc voice and a cock has to mean something (haha), and it did (to some extent, I know that it's definitely the same scene no matter what genitals V has).
Johnny's response to the night was hilarious, and I did verbally tell him to "shut up".
And the morning dialog that played out was nice. I just feel bad when V has to tell an npc that they have a terrorist, Johnny, living in his head. V doesn't expect them to understand, but the way they don't leave afterward is nice. All that matters to me is that River stayed with V, and I like to see that he did, that V has someone to support him. Sure, Johnny does support V to some extent, but it's not in the way a physical person can (still waiting for him to say, "Strange things are afoot at the Circle-K.").
I do like Panam being her quirky self about the relationship too lol
Anyway, I finally put my thoughts somewhere, and now I can go gush about this man and other men now. :3
A friend of mine brought up the fact that the Jade I am using is just a husk of his dead wife. I'm sorry, but I have HCs for my Stalker Drifter. And yes, I do sometimes dissociate from myself/my Drifter Character and call Stalker "husband" lol
So here's some resources for getting the right skin colors for the dragon age characters that people have whitewashed through the years:
Isabela from Dragon Age is Black by Dalishious
FULL skin palette for Alistair by Dalishious
High quality Alistair headshot for colorpicking by Dalishious from this
High quality Zevran headshot for colorpicking by Dalishious from this
Fenris' skin color by Dalishious
High quality Fenris Images for colorpicking by Dalishious
High quality Merrill headshot for colorpicking by Dalishious
And just so people don't have the excuse of laziness, here's palettes i have made by colorpicking textures and models, feel free to use them:
Edit: Crows and Emmrich
My own dirty laundry: I have been guilty of whitewashing Merrill before, as I didn't know she was in DA:O so I used the DA2 render for colorpicking, from this I need everyone to learn that sometimes the whitewashing isn't done by malice but from a place of lack of knowledge.
Not me breaking down in tears last night because my Hero of Ferelden was talked about by her husband in DAI. Just knowing all the Wardens have the calling made me upset knowing that my HoF is alone and probably hearing the calling. Saying he'll return to her like I'm not gonna trap his ass in the fade. (Half joking)
It didn't hit me this hard my first play thru because I hadn't played the first two games before and just used the default world state but this time my HoF is my everything, DAO was my favorite game.
Oh, I love this guy so much, you will return to your beautiful wife.
Casually freaking out about the private letter for probably her husband. Let me see :3
I love these two. Zev tripped twice before making his way to his and Arthur's joint house with Lettie and Eleanor. This is so in character for him. It's funny.
Making my Tomodachi island with Dragon Age and Warframe members, but THE Iron Bull is something else. I have used the stamp tool often for him. And I'm still not sure how to do his horns.
