about me

i'm an old soul, but a young heart. i dry my flowers. i illustrate in ink. i write every thought down. the good and the bad. i think too much and say too little. i have my head in the clouds. sometimes i want to disappear. i sleep often and dream more. i like to learn new things. i love people but hate the world. i love the world but hate people. i go outside with no shoes on. i travel and go on adventures always. i am angry. I am from the graduating class of 2023. i travelled for 6 months on an adventure with doddi my house van. it was the best and worst thing i ever did. i am not satisfied. i am scared and very excited. i am a bad person. i am engineering majoring in environmental engineering and design student an architecture student. i don’t want to study anymore. i sip my tea slowly. but i never finish it. i am a christian. i want to live like Jesus did! i couldn’t give less of a fuck right now. i believe that love is love. i am kind. i am mean. i am always found with a novel in one arm and sketchbook in the other. i am broken. i want to live slowly and full of colour. i am trying to want tomorrow. i am a contradiction. i am dead... i am ALIVE.

soft purples crawl into the creases of my heart,

searching for a place to rest.

settling into the plains of my skin.

allowing the wild to be.

it is a gentle kind of beautiful,

to let the wild creep into my world.

and yet, smoke still fills my lungs,

both destructive and thrilling.

it curls its way through my blood,

feeding the sweet wild with flame.

it is the kind of ruin that keeps you alive,

while poisoning the very root of it.

a love like wild thyme and cigarette ash.

1st june 2026

i found your name pressed in the pages of june,

along with the flowers i collected with you.

the memory of the first kilometre leaks into me like petrol leaking from the tank.

it was a false start maybe,

but it was a start,

and i now have brilliant busts of colour between the pages of june.

for every town we left,

we took a vibrant piece of life with us.

and very much like our pressed flowers,

we were short lived,

but nothing short of beautiful.

I found your name pressed between the pages of june 2. kissed by the sun but thinking of you 3. you were the underline in every chapter I reread 4. we were prose pretending to be permanence 5. a love like wild thyme & cigarette ash 6. I was the orchard. you only wanted the wine 7. I spilled a bottle of rosé and blamed the stars 8. our love—sun-warmed, barefoot, and wildly unafraid 9. I dressed up for the sunset like it was a lover 10. I made sweet tea and forgave myself again 11. we met in the fantasy section—how fitting 12. you annotated my life with quiet affection 13. some days, I date the sky. some days, I marry the moon 14. joy arrived in sonnets and strawberries 15. it’s not summer for me but summer is my happiest season and i’m 2 behind so i’ll write some tonight haha

The worst part of being a writer is that you can't turn it off. you're at a funeral eulogizing someone and part of your brain is quietly noting the light coming through the window

The specific humiliation of sharing your writing with someone and then watching them read it in front of you in real time. they pause. why did they pause. that was a bad pause. now they're nodding but what does the nod mean. now they look up and say "wow" and you need to know IMMEDIATELY what kind of wow that was. there are at least six different wows and only one of them is good and you have aged fourteen years waiting to find out which one.

some people treat romantic love like it’s the only meaningful thing life has to offer and that’s so weird to me.. there’s so much more out there

I'm not saying it's not important etc etc but to treat it like it's the ultimate purpose of life is just very sad to me idk

i was chatting to a friend yesterday about this exact thing. i fear that we, as a society, have narrowed the human experience of love. in the world we live in, the standard is to find love, to settle down, to build a life, a family, a career, with this one person who is your soulmate. or it’s much more explicit than that (but still widely the truth people accept).

but i think love is more than sex and romance and building something of your life with your “until death do us part.” there is so much beauty in the love between friends, and siblings, and mothers and fathers and their children, and pets and their owners.

love is far more than just a destination we end up in i think. in a sense our purpose as humans isn’t to find the “love of our life” but rather to experience love and joy completely in all its forms.
