I think there's a huge push in non-human spaces to make very very very clear that you don't have a psychotic disorder like having one makes you exempt from being non-human or physically non-human and i think a lot of you need to asses why you feel the need to completely distance yourself from people with psychotic disorders or other mental health issues for the sake of being taken seriously by people who already do not like individuals who identify as non-human.
I'm not ashamed of having mental health issues or being physically non-human, and i feel no need to explain myself unnecessarily in hopes of having 2 or 3 more people believe me. Distancing yourself unnecessarily from people who you personally do not understand and throwing others under the bus for the sake of a bit more validation does nothing to prove your non-humanity or alter-humanity, it only serves to prove that you fundamentally do not understand what it means to be in community with people who are already outcasted by the general public.
everyone's experiences with non-humanity are completely different and trying to create a dichotomy of who is inherently "more valid" based off of different variables serves nothing and does nothing and only shows that you value social status in the community as one of the "good ones" more than actually engaging with your non-humanity and engaging with community.
(I know there are already so many posts like this and talking about this but since remaking my new account I have seen way too many accounts and posts like what i mentioned and im very sad that this is STILL a problem)
i love wearing tenshi kaiwai cause it really makes me feel more robot and you can tie in more cyber elements into it too. the turtle necks, color palette, gaming motifs, i love it allโฆ.
>TIPS FOR ROBOTKINS<
>>(From a robotkin)<<
>>> Iโve seen quite a lot of tips for therians and otherkins online, but I donโt actually see a lot of advice towards robotkins. So hereโs a list of some stuff I think can help if you want to feel more connected to robots or just feel more comfy in general. :)
>>> [DISCLAIMER!!] These tips are NOT a must and are only suggestions! You do not need to follow a specific standard to be considered valid in your identity and self. Your identity is whatโs in your core and you should only do what feels right. <3
>>> It is also important to note that you shouldnโt cut yourself off from real needs or feel like you have to โdetachโ from humanity to be who you are. Remember to stay safe and healthy! [+]
1. SENSORY INPUT
>>> Personalise your surroundings! Maybe put some cool LEDโs in your room, surround yourself with pieces of tech and little gadgets, maybe keep your items sleek and organised according to your algorithm, get some wires to hang around.. itโs your preferences. Get yourself comfortable.
2. ACCESSORISE
>>> Decorate yourself! Donโt be afraid to get creative. Wear some metallic chains / jewellery, put that USB stick on a necklace, maybe find some little pins or hairclips that are computer / robotic themed, gloves and rings can feel nice too. If youโre rich, you could even get a hollowed out CRT to wear as a mask, or buy one of those cool robotic masks or some other pretty techy things you can find.
3. MEDIA
>>> Find media online that resonates with you! Games (e.g Ultrakill, Portal, Machinarium etcโฆ) or movies (e.g Electric Dreams, 2001 A Space Oddesey, etcโฆ) with robotic characters/themes, gifs or videos of robotic parts and machinery, cool robot character designs.. you name it. It can feel nice to observe what you relate to.
4. IDENTITY
>>> This one is based purely on personal choice and will be unique to everyone, but if you want to, donโt be afraid to refer to yourself with robotic language / pronouns. Calling yourself something like a โunitโ, giving yourself a robotic name or nickname, using pronouns like it/itself or other neopronouns etc that you feel close with, using words like โrechargingโ and โoverclockedโ etc to describe your emotional states. You could even do what Iโm doing and use computer-like fonts and characters in your messages! Do what feels most like you.
5. CREATIVITY
>>> Take part in creation! This could involve making robotic OCs / designs, write about the way you feel, draw out how your body or system feels.. maybe you could even go as far as to create something like a cyberdeck, or play around with something simple like a microbit!
>>> Thatโs all from me for now. If you have anymore tips, feel free to add onto this list. Donโt let anybody make you feel ashamed for who you are, embrace whatโs in your heart ๐
a quick thumbnail i made for one of my finalsโฆ i kinda like it so im putting it here
I've been thinking that i was robotkin for a while but I don't actually understand otherkin as much. Could you pls help? I wanna know if I really am or if I'm just somehow faking it
hi !! first i would really recommend doing some research into others experiences too because my experience wonโt be the same as every otherkin and everyoneโs experience is special to them !
for me i identify as a robot both mentally and physically. (it doesnโt have to be both !) I feel like my robot identity affects me mentally in the way i think and act and i also just feel like my body itself is a robot. (but i still recognize the body i actually have) being a robot is also just a really euphoric experience for me and i feel very nice being referred to as a robot and being talked to with robot terms. :D i personally donโt feel human to any degree, iโm a robot to the core !!! i have an ask here where i also went over this and how i found out if you care to read it !
generally otherkin itself is identifying as a nonhuman/not-fully human being. (as in you could be fully nonhuman or just partially) this could be mentally, spiritually, and/or physically. maybe this is just me, but i wouldnโt be too concerned about โfaking itโ as long as you are comfortable and happy !!! donโt worry about others and just be true to you :) if you feel it, you feel it ! iโm not sure if this helps at all but iโd be happy to answer any more questions !
i just wanted to share this because i hope its understandable. I understand that the body i have is human, but mentally i feel more like a robot. and i do feel nice when people refer to me as such. the thing is, i also know that whenever people refer to me as a robot, they mean it as a transgression because of my supposed autism instead of a compliment, so i feel conflicted. i feel very worried about this because i'd feel nice to identify as otherkin but at the same time im not sure if im just feeding into the transgressions or not thanks for answering my ask btw!
thatโs completely understandable ! as someone who isnโt diagnosed with autism (but might have it according to my therapistโฆ) iโm not sure if i can completely speak on this, but i think itโs really up to you ! i donโt think identifying as otherkin would be feeding into it directly, itโs just an identity and label at the end of the day and a lot of nonhumans are neurodivergent, but i definitely understand your concern. as long as it makes you happy id say itโs okay ! you can be robotkin but also recognize that those are transgressions and not okay. people are unfortunately going to make comments like that about people with autism and thereโs not much you can do but bring it up to them if you wanted to. wishing the best for you in figuring this out !!!
and ofc !! :)

constantly contemplating the thought of casually wearing a collar.. i mean, im in collegeโฆ.. couldnโt possibly be the weirdest thing going on around here >_> maybe some day
Tired robot falling down into the arms of someone trusted as they turn off most body movement processes/motors. Limp in warm arms, not having to worry about anything but being held. Being lovingly shifted to be more comfortable as they can't do it themselves in their current state. Full doll-like looseness.
i love being a robot ! thatโs all
No no, don't cry, hey!!! Little robot purring with their fans and mechanics while laying on you as you stroke their back, okay???
