Happy birthday to animator, silent comedian, and cartoonist Charley Bowers, born June 7, 1889.
Bowers was completely forgotten until the 1960s, when his films were discovered under the name of ‘Bricolo’. A few years after the discovery of these films, film archivists discovered an advertisement from 1928 for ‘Bricolo’, otherwise known as Charley Bowers. He is still mostly forgotten today, and only 17 of his films exist.
