//So, I'm going to make a new Kevin blog that isn't a side blog because side blogs are silly. I'll post the new one once it's done, and this one will become a redirect to there. Yup yup.
Does not enjoy being dressed up like a girl by Lady Shelly. Not at all.
{❁} "Keeeeevin!" Alyss laughs, and hugs him from behind. "Stay with me today Kevin! We'll play games, and drink tea! I'll be fun I promise!"
Oh? Smiling a little, Kevin turns to look at Alyss. It was a little awkward having her hold him like that, he had no idea when she had become so attached to him, but he decided not to move away.
"I suppose that would be alright. What were you thinking?"

There had been a guest in the manor. She had been here for a few days, and they still hadn't found out much about her. Miss Taeko was her name, and other than that, not much was known about her life or where she came from. Although her name was unusual, they hadn't done so well placing her with anyone, or anything. She didn't seem to belong in one of the orphanages or noble families, and anything else would take a lot longer to figure out. If she talked to them a little more maybe they could discover something, but that would come in time, apparently.
Mrs. Sinclair and the two eldest Sinclair children were none to keen on having her here, more them than her though. Which was fine, they wouldn't have much to do with her anyway. The task inevitably fell on Kevin to make sure she was taken care of, so they didn't have to do much at all. A little bit of a pain, considering the amount of work he had to do, but nothing major.
It was with that thought in mind that Kevin came to collect her for breakfast. Standing outside her door, he knocked. "May I come in?"
If Only: Alyss/Kevin (BeforeTheBreakingFate)
{❁} Hardly wasting a moment to quell her aching stomach, Alyss dives into her cake and marvels at the sweet flavor. She’s never had a confectionery in quite this flavor (something that can surely be attributed to the little time she spent in the care of the Baskervilles), and honestly, she can’t get enough.
"Mmm! I like this cake Kevin!" Her enthusiasm is, perhaps, just a little excessive, but it’s been a very long time since she’s had the chance to try a whole new flavor. Placing an indulgent eight cubes of sugar into her tea, the girl in white brings it to her lips and takes a sip.
She’d stopped paying attention in her gaiety, and the Core’s voice rose in pitch almost immediately, startling her. She chokes on her tea and drops the cup, spilling a good deal of it onto the lovely table cloth. Alyss doubles over and wills the Core to quiet down again—it’s far too early to let it win.
"…I’m sorry!" She sputters and coughs, trying to catch her breath, and, tears pricking in her eyes from the sensation, stares at the cloth incredulously. "…the…table…! Kevin…!" Alyss turns back to him, covering her mouth and looking utterly ashamed. "I didn’t mean to…"
There was something rewarding about having Alyss make that sort of expression because of him. Well, because of the cakes, but he was the one who gave her those to her, so it was alright if he took credit for it. It was just that he was so bad in these sorts of situations that it made him glad to know he was doing something right. Made him feel useful, more socially skilled than he was, or something like that.
That was until a different sort of expression crossed her face, and she began to choke. Something seemed to have startled her, but what could that have been? Was she in pain, or something else? How dreadful.
Now concerned, and visibly so, especially when she starts crying, Kevin hurried over to her side. Cleaning up the mess, or doing his best to do so, he offers her a brief smile. "It's fine, don't worry about it. Are you quite alright, Miss Alyss?"
Her hands now nervously fidgeting in her pockets, she gulps a bit before she manages to speak, her voice wavering very faintly as she nods very slightly. He probably thought she was homeless or something, which, of course, she wasn’t. She had a house, and even though she lived alone, it was somewhat nice knowing there wasn’t a mother to tell her to clean up (even though she wasn’t very messy) or a father to abuse her (which he had when she was younger and he was around), but of course…
It would have been nice if she had someone to cling to in those times of panic, times where she’s hurt herself, or felt scared during a storm, or after a nightmare. It’s too late for that now, though, she thinks silently, pausing before she speaks. "…T-thank you. You’re very kind. I just wish there was some way I could repay you, you know. I feel sort of greedy for having you do this for me, and me not being able to give you something in return." That always seemed to be the case, lately…
She was fidgety. Not surprising, given the circumstances, it was just something he took note of. Once he learned of this girl's circumstances it would probably make sense to him.
Once more, Kevin smiled in an attempt to be as disarming and nonthreatening as he could. He held out a hand to her. This was good, right? Made him seem friendly? "Nonsense, it's not greedy at all. We all need some assistance once in a while, yes? I don't mind at all."
Besides, it was getting late, and he doubted she was going to be awake for much longer. Or at least he hoped not. If that were the case, he could always find someone else to take care of her for the night. Ask a female maid to help with that? That would probably be best.
Kevin did as he said, following behind the young girl until the two of them reached one of the shops. Oh, she was headed for the toy store first, was she? Not surprising, she was a child after all. Normally Emily liked to pick out a doll or two, she liked those.
"In here then?" He asked, holding the door open for her as a bell chimed over their heads.
"Yeah." She said as she walked in smiling. She then walked to the aisle where she normally went when they went to the toy store and looked at all the toys trying to decide what to get.
Following behind Emily, Kevin just watched as she picked out different toys. Hopefully she didn't find anything too expensive. He liked buying her things, but he refused to use any money but his own. Then again, it wasn't as if he really had much to spend it on anyway.
"Find anything you like?"
//I know I'm ridiculously inactive on here, but I would like more threads tooooo. So if anyone would like a starter or like to plot something, let me knoowww.
{❁} The Core’s voice rises in pitch, and Alyss, trying to hide it, winces and drops the tea kettle. It rolls over the table, spilling some of it’s contents out on the table cloth.
In the midst of her struggle, the girl in white reaches for the kettle feebly, holding her head in her hands. ”I-I’m sorry…”
At first, Kevin isn't completely sure what to make of Alyss' reaction. Had he said something that upset or startled her?
Walking around beside her, he grabbed the kettle and attempted to clean up some of the water. It didn't matter much, she had nothing to be sorry for, he just wanted to make sure she didn't burn herself. "It's quite alright, Miss Alyss. You didn't get burned, did you?"

"Good evening."
"Good evening to you, too—"
”..you look familiar,”
"Oh, do I? Perhaps we've run into each other before then."
"May I ask what your name is?"

"Terribly sorry, but it's quite late and everyone is already getting into bed. If you had business with the Sinclairs, I suggest you come back at a more reasonable hour."
Hm? Surely a toy wasn’t supposed to react like that, was it? Actually, were toys even supposed to react? Maybe the mechanical ones were. confusing to say the least. So tilting his head once more, Kevin took another step towards the strange contraption.
Seeing Kevin approached him once again the mechanical bird lets out a loud cry as his eyes shift to a golden yellow color. He didn’t know if this human hasn’t been told by his parents the song of the Songbird or if his family just moved here and never saw or heard anything about him.
Oh! In surprise, Kevin almost jumps back a step, completely caught off guard by the loud noise. It's eyes changed colour as well? Just what was this thing? It was confusing him to the point of being slightly afraid, especially because of it's recent actions. It seemed almost alive, and yet it couldn't be, right?
//OKAY SO. My quenue is stocked how wonderful. I’ll be leaving early tomorrow morning and won’t be back on until Sunday I’m thinking. I don’t know how much internet I’ll have either, but we’ll see. I pretty much finished all my replies, so you guys can have those. Heh, the only time I actually get things done is when I’m going awaaayy~! -flies off-
Yup, that is all.
{❁} Pulling out the chair next to him, Alyss seats herself gently and reaches to pull a cup out for herself. ”O-Oh… that’s okay!” She smiles and takes the tea pot into her hands.
"I’m just glad to have someone to talk to." It was frightfully lonely to sit in her room in the dark, with only the Core to listen to.
"Hm." Strange how people worked like that, just wanting someone to talk to. Was that something girls did, or young children, or just ordinary people? He never found the need for company that important.
"Talk to about something specific?" There must be some reason she couldn't sleep, after all.
