honestly even if I fully banned live action stuff I’d still draw grace because that movie is so so good... I also love how every age regressor immediately clocked grace. they sent a baby to space.

thank you for adding the bit about burnout! It can be easy to lose yourself when you’re making work for other people, so I’ve been trying to be conscious of when I need to take a break from asks and draw for myself :) I really appreciate you caring!

Rocky is a very emotional baby by Eridan standards. He's fussy and stomping around to show his displeasure and flops whenever he doesnt get his way.

Adrian has the secrete touch and with a soft warble always manages to calm him down and tuck him under their carapice and watch them sleep.

Grace learns how to distract the baby by showing him more human stuff.

And now I'm thinking about Stratt's office and pretending that on those shelves in the back held some of tiny Grace's favourite books (for when he was small n' needed a storytime)

Like, some picture books about dinosaurs or "baby's first quantum physics"

So...when Grace leaped onto the shelf to get away from the doctor/agents and the books scattered, it extra broke Stratt's heart even more

Because, after Grace was forced into the coma and Stratt was finished making calls to have Grace's things prepared to be on the ship...she had to walk back into that office and pick up the books.

some of my favorite underrated moments from the phm deleted scenes:

grace inadvertently pushing the button to bring out the other two beds with his butt, immediately after ripping the catheter out of his rectum

"please do not share the food paste with the medical arm" cut to armando using a polite little handkerchief to wipe its "face"

grace pulling the wrong toilet flush and getting his head vacuum-sucked into the centrifugal-oriented one (also thank you phm deleted scenes for the only other angle of the bathroom we will probably ever get <3)

idk if the guys in the spacesuit tutorial video are some of the props crew, but if they are then i'm glad they got to show off their creation and have fun/be silly about it

Oh absolutely! I just know the little guy goes crazy for Rocky making him feel like he weighs nothing!! Flopping on top of him and laughing as he demands a joyride. Laying on his belly and grabbing onto Rocky's legs so he can be pulled along the floor. Fussing over bedtime and flopping limply onto his back in protest, only to dissolve into giggles when Rocky drags him to bed by his ankles. Grace loves it because it makes him feel so small, and he knows he's safe with Rocky 😊

if ryland grace hit me a year ago i wouldve been writing the most emotionally fraught aromantic fics about him and rocky. its the desiring a true and deep bond with somebody while intrinsically at odds with the nature of typical romance. the fear and frustration over what you feel, or what you dont feel and the fact that you have zero control over it. trying to hammer yourself into shape because part of it, the connection and the bond and the forever, is what you want, and it doesnt feel possible to have that and not the other stuff. and rocky being like: i love you anyway. it does not have to be in one way or another. eridian ideas of romance or human ideas of romance are irrelevant to us, so there is no framework for what our relationship has to be. its just us. and grace is like Yeah okay. okay. its just us. species of two bullshit
