š§µ Let's talk about something especially problematic, since nobody has ever really explained this on Grumblr as far as I can tell. Or at least, nobody who's not a complete freak and/or disgusting pervert...
š§µ The problematic nature of comic books, the comic industry, and comic readers. Put under a read more for your reading needs.
š§µ First: The books themselves. Comic books have a long history of s3xu4l!z4tion, and creating unrealistic body standards. The s3xu4l!z4tion is particularly disgusting, especially of female figures, because of how nasty and perverse it is. There's a horrible and unbearable overlaying smell of s3xu4l content all over the comic book industry.
š§µ Things of this nature cause people to think that they're normal, literally normalizing perversions which, as is obvious, lead to things like p0*n and p********* normalization. These things are well documented, so I won't go into them.
š§µ Comic books often create a sort of fake world that normalizes problematic things, like m*rd3r, st34ling, "heroism" in citizens, p0l!ce and dr0n3 activity, f!ghting, 4ss4ult, and again, s3xu4l things. This contributes to a hyperviolent world, where people think it's okay to go out and punch their problems away, and instill false confidence in the justice system, or false distrust in the justice system, depending on the writers' own personal p0l!t!c4l beliefs. And speaking of the writers.
š§µ Second: The industry in general. Writers, artists, inkers, colorists, panelists, and general workers in the industry have gone totally abused by companies for a very long time. Engaging in this industry is lining the pockets of people who are taking advantage of artists!
š§µ Of course, these artists are also often terrible people, who typically put bigotted works into print, contributing to the constant waves of propoganda that people engage with. These irredeemable medias are created by people who either hold these dangerous beliefs, or are fine with profiting off of said dangerous beliefs. It's disgusting that anyone would be okay with contributing to this kind of world!
š§µ To say NOTHING of the many, many, many instances of s3xu4l 48us3, union busting, $l4v3 labour, and other horrors that these people are getting up to. These corporations are extremely problematic and should not be supported!
š§µ Third: The disgusting comic "fanbase." These are absolutely unbearably problematic. I cannot stand that these people are allowed to run around, entirely unchecked! They are elitist, bigotted, and often very 48u$!v3! They will grab pitchforks and go after anyone who criticizes them, in fact, I'm sure that they'll become enraged by this post, and send me massive amounts of anon h4t3, also known as internet 48u$3. It's disgusting that people like this think they're allowed to do these things without a moment of hesitation.
š§µ They often are quick to push each other out of their own community for a sense of personal winning, and continue to do so even after it became a "m3m3" (ugh) that they're always doing that. It's disgusting how these problematic people are allowed to 48u$3 others without a single bit of backlash!
š§µ Also, there's been multiple instances of comic book fans rioting over small things like changes to their continuity, and even hurting each other, children, or other bystanders who didn't do anything, just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. They are pretentious, aggressive, spiteful, violent, and often very 48u$!*3. I do recognize that I will likely receive extreme backlash from posting this, but if even one person is saved from being exposed to them, it will be worth it.
š§µ So, TL;DR: all comic books are irredeemable media, and the people who engage with them are extremely problematic individuals who deserve backlash.
