Questions?!?
TMLA STUDENT: If Luini wasn’t born in Milan, when did he move there?
ME: Luini moved to Milan around the 1500′s
~Milan, Italy~
This is where most of Luini’s artwork was created.
Questions?!?
TMLA STUDENT: what technique was most used by Luini?
ME: Contour blur seems to be a technique repeated often by Luini
(1) Leonardo da Vinci and (2) Raphael were both great influences on Luini’s artwork.
Luini adapted chiaroscuro from Leonardo
Aspects
The painting of the beheading of St. John the Baptist was about the story of a woman named Salome who asked for the head of John. This story can be found in the Christian Bible.
The use of contour blurs by delicate shadows in this painting are said to be one of the works by Luini most indebted to Leonardo da Vinci.
Questions?!?
TMLA STUDENT: where can i find this beautiful painting of Salome by Luini?
ME: The Lourve Museum, ofcourse
~Madonna del Roseto~
This was made during the first half of the 16th century (specifically 1510 ca.)
Adoration of the Magi by Luini in San Pietro of Luino
~Musée du Lourve, Paris~

When the Magic Happened
Bernardino created the painting of “Salome with the head of Saint John the Baptist” from 1527-1531
Luini (Italian (Milanese) was active in 1512 and died in 1532)
