This is a blog centred around being in the closet. I wish for it to be a space for closeted people as well as those that are questioning their identity. Those that are not in the closet are welcome to stay too.

And here’s a link to a post going into more detail about the blog, the flag and me.

The blog runs on queue and will be mostly based on submissions; I may occasionally post/reblog other content suiting it’s topic.

For all that to run smoothly, I need you to follow these rules:

Begin your asks/submissions with either my closeted experience is or closeted culture is (or some variation of these)

You can share your coming out story by starting your ask/submission with my coming out story/experience was

Those of you who are questioning can ask questions and we can all try to answer them (this is also valid for those who have any other closet related questions)

Feel free to send an ask/submission or simply dm me if you want to let me know or suggest something blog related (since I will be posting/reblogging content, you could point me to posts you think would be worth sharing on here)

Closeted culture is trying to buy a fan, finding one with a rainbow and showing it to my mum only for her to say that I couldn't buy it because it "sends a message" (that's the point!) and having to chose between staing in the closet an losing one of the best coming out occasion I'll ever get or giving her knowledge I don't want her to obtain.

closeted culture is wanting to date and have a gf sooooo bad, but you know if you want that you'd need to come out, if you don't want to try and keep it a secret - which you're pretty sure most people wouldn't want to have to deal with, so you just tiredly resign yourself to being on your own.

Closet culture is owning exactly (1) postcard sized print of pride merch and stressing that someone will find out, but also being too emotionally attached to throw it out.

Closet culture is clubbing with your cis guy friend and getting SOOOO jealous when guys hit on him because no gay man is ever gonna approach your non-passing ass and all you can hope is that you’ll get a bisexual man who’ll put up with your pronouns not matching your…anything, really.

(For the record there’s nothing wrong with bisexuals I am one it’s just frustrating that I’m cut off from like at least half of the mlm dating pool)

Closet culture is thinking about kissing my girlfriend during mass when the priest goes on about 'secular society', and the secret satisfaction that comes from knowing absolutely none of these people ! know who i am as a person

ok send help. I found this reddit post with a bunch of links to a ton of really cool articles on asexuality and resources and that kind of thing (X) but OH MY GOD. I’M DYING. One of them was a link to an article on what sexual attraction actually feels like (X) and NOOOOOO JUST NOOOOO PEOPLE ARE JUST WALKING AROUND LIKE THIS??? Y’ALL ARE CRAZY

Closeted culture is hanging out with openly queer friends and casually mentioning to one of them that you are ace only for them to completely change their tone and reply with “ah, alright 😌” and progressively distance themselves from you. Then, devastated, proceeding to lay low for a year and now I get an email from my uni’s administration and in the little profile pic of the person who sent it I spot an ace flag in the bg!! This is the first time I see ace representation around me like this and honestly I feel like I might even cry a little 🥹
