@cosmal​​​  sent :    gently cups his cheeks, thumbing over his jawbone. he gives a reassuring smile as his eyes soften- he takes in the full image of his father, his father without his helmet, &&. knows fully of the depths behind his eyes. a moment passes , &&. he leans his head against din's armored chest. 

(  HE  CAN  LOOK  UPON  YOUR  FACE ,  FOR  HE  IS  NOT  OF  THE  LIVING .  )        Din  still  had  trouble  fully  wrapping  his  head  around  the  concept  of  Birdy  being  dead ,  as  he  always  felt  --  and  still  does  feel  --  truly  alive .    With  some  gentle  convincing  from  the  part  of  his  adopted  son ,  the  Mandalorian  had  agreed  to  remove  his  helmet .    An  anxious  tightness  grasped  at  his  chest  regardless ,  but  he  was  soon  calmed  by  the  feeling  of  Birdy’s  kind  touch  upon  his  cheek .    Seeing  Birdy  without  the  view  of  his  helmet  as  a  barrier  was  a  new  feeling ;  he  had  all  the  time  in  the  world  to  look  at  his  son ,  but  this  was  the  first  time  the  angel  was  able  to  look  upon  his  adopted  father .    A  ghost  of  a  smile  touched  Din’s  lips ,  as  he  let  out  a  soft ,        ❛    See ?    Nothing  special .    ❜

However ,  Birdy  looked  happy ,  and  though  Din  could  not  understand  why  seeing  his  face  would  make  the  angel  feel  this  way ,  he  was  pleased  by  the  peace  that  filled  the  small  space  of  the  Razor  Crest  after  the  reveal .    After  a  few  moments ,  Birdy  moved  to  rest  his  head  upon  beskar ,  and  the  Mandalorian’s  gloved  fingers  would  move  to  gently  brush  through  the  angel’s  hair .

@thndrheart​  sent :    "hey, close your eyes for a second?" there's an undercurrent of trepidation in her voice as the mandalorian pushes her helmet up, enough to press scarred lips to her partner's knuckles. this bounty was going to be a rough one, and while she hates staying behind -- the child can't follow him this time. "come back in one piece, djarin. i mean it." 

❛    ---   Alright .    ❜        The  Mandalorian’s  tone  is  soft ,  and  lids  flutter  closed  per  Hotaru’s  request .    The  pause  afterwards  was  likely  enough  to  indicate  that  he  had  shut  his  eyes ,  but  Din  lets  out  a  quiet ,    ‘ they’re  closed ’    for  good  measure .    The  sound  of  a  hand  padding  against  beskar  precedes  the  gentle  taking  of  his  own  hand .    Soon ,  Din  can  feel  the  sensation  of  her  lips  pressing  against  his  knuckles .    He  lets  out  a  steady  breath ,  somehow  feeling  the  warmth  through  his  already  gloved  hands .    Before  Hotaru  can  let  go  of  his  hand ,  Din  gently  takes  hold  of  it  for  a  few  moments ,  giving  it  a  reassuring  squeeze  before  letting  her  hand  fall  back  to  her  side .    All  the  while ,  his  eyes  remain  closed ,  so  Hotaru  has  time  to  secure  her  helmet .        ❛    I’ll  be  fine .    ---    Make  sure  the  Child  doesn’t  get  into  any  trouble .    ❜        There’s  a  trace  of  a  smile  in  the  latter  part  of  his  statement ,  though  the  danger  of  his  mark  loomed  over  the  atmosphere .
