God has power that he doesn't have to borrow. Wisdom, that He doesn't have to learn. Foresight, that nobody has to reveal. Strength that He doesn't have to work for. A Child might not understand it. And you might not either. But if anybody ask you, Who created God? the only doctrinal answer you can give is nobody. God exists, because God exists.

When you imagine God as someone who is less than good, you are not imagining God, you are imagining yourself.

Jesus still loves you when you don't understand what He's doing, when you're tired of waiting, if you struggle with your mental health, if you haven't spent time with Him today, if you struggle to love yourself even if you have nothing left to give. He still loves you.

Woe to us if we replace conviction of sin with self-esteem, self-love, or even self-knowledge. Woe to those who counsel such action. Those who swallow the medicine of the secular psychologists, tonics disguised with a Christ-flavored coating or remedies straight from the textbook, are condemned to wander through their lives with the nagging despair that accompanies the barrenness of such foolishness. Instead, turn to Christ. Acknowledge your brokenness, not as a gimmick, but as a reality based on your struggles with sin, so that God might begin the work of mending your brokenness according to His will, expressed through His Word.
