"Honour your father and mother, that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land." Ephesians 6:2-3
This promise is mentioned in Exodus 20:12 as well.
Parents are not perfect. They may have done several things to annoy you or hurt you. But they have done umpteen things that we need to be grateful for.
One of the main ways you can honour them is by showing them respect and treating them well.
Make sure your parents always know how much you love and respect them. God will honour you if you will honour your parents.
âLet your father and mother be glad, let her who bore you rejoice.ââ Proverbs 23:25
Let's live in a way that causes them to rejoice.
Ask God for forgiveness for the times you have not treated your parents with honour. Seek to honour them today in the way you speak to them and the way you treat them.
Bibleverse of the day đ
âLord, show me which way to go, because I'm standing at a crossroads with multiple paths ahead and I don't know which one You want me to take.
Each option looks possible, each has merit, but I can't see which one aligns with Your will, which one leads where You want me, which one is the right choice.
Teach me to wait for Your direction instead of rushing ahead in confusion, to seek Your guidance before making decisions, to trust that You will make the path clear when I need to know.
I'm asking for Your wisdom, trusting that You'll guide me in the way I should go, believing You care about my decisions and won't leave me directionless.
Help me recognize Your leading when it comes, to distinguish Your voice from my own preferences, to know when You're pointing me toward something even if it's unexpected.
Remind me that You promise to guide those who ask, that You don't hide Your will from people genuinely seeking it, that showing me which way to go is something You want to do.
Give me patience to wait for clarity, wisdom to discern Your direction, courage to follow when You show me even if it's not the path I would have chosen.
Let me hear clearly today, Lord, show me which way to go, and when You do, give me faith to walk it confidently. In Jesus' name. Amen.â

Amen. đ
âŠChrist Jesus who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Romans 8:34
This verse gives me great comfort. Sometimes when the needs are so pressing and the way seems so foggy, I am lost for words. I donât know what to pray. But before I could ever kneel down to pour out my heart to God, my Saviour has already called out to His Father on my behalf.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, I am humbled and grateful that, after all You have already done for me, You're still interceding for me at God's right hand. This gives me great confidence, comfort, and hope. Thank You Lord, You know my every need and thought, even before I ask. Amen.
Isaiah 25:4
4 You have been a refuge for the poor,
a refuge for the needy in their distress,
a shelter from the storm
and a shade from the heat.
For the breath of the ruthless
is like a storm driving against a wall
Mark 10:48 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, âJesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!â
In the midst of the bustling crowds and the noisy activity and with Bartimaeus shouting louder and louder, JESUS STOPS! Jesus did not overlook his callings. Jesus will stop for you too. He is not too busy to stop when you call upon Him. Jesus' willingness to stop all the activity to deal with this blind beggar should be an encouragement to all of us. Jesus does not just stop, but He goes further and He âcalls him to Himself and heals him! Perhaps, you are distressed today; call upon Him. He will come to you and will deliver you.
This is an interesting interpretation of the Parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25:1-13 from âChris Limonâ (FB). See what you think? Have a very blessed Sunday in Christ! Amen! đ
âKeep Your Lamps Full đ„
Iâm reminded of Jesusâ parable in Matthew 25. Ten virgins were waiting for the Bridegroom â five were wise and kept their lamps full of oil, five were foolish and ran out.
This is a picture of our hearts. Oil represents the Holy Spirit â intimacy with God. Keeping the wick trimmed means cutting away the smoke: sin, distraction, compromise.
You canât borrow someone elseâs oil. You canât run on yesterdayâs fire. Keep coming back to Him daily. Fill your lamp. Trim your wick.
Because when the cry goes out â âBehold, the Bridegroom is coming!â â youâll want to be ready, burning bright.
The Symbolism of the Lamp and Oil:The Lamp: Represents your outward faith, your testimony, and your profession of belief.
The Oil: Symbolizes the Holy Spirit, and the daily spiritual fuel needed to keep your faith burning through trials. The oil also symbolizes an ongoing, personal relationship with Godâone that cannot be borrowed or shared but must be cultivated through time spent in His presence. Neglecting this intimacy leaves us spiritually unprepared, much like the foolish virgins who ran out of oil. delays, and fatigue. đ„đĄ
Your Faith Must Be Your Own: In the parable, the wise bridesmaids could not share their oil with the foolish ones. You cannot borrow character, spiritual discipline, or a relationship with God from others.
Your faith is deeply personal.
KEEP YOUR LAMPS FULL
Ask yourself: Is my lamp running on yesterday's faith, or am I continually seeking fresh oil? Make time to pause and reconnect with God today, ensuring your inner spirit is refreshed and ready for whatever lies ahead.
Cultivate the Fruit of the Spirit: The oil is replenished through intentional, daily habitsâprayer, studying Scripture, quiet reflection, and acts of service.
Stay Watchful: Living with a full lamp means staying alert and prepared, rather than relying on a last-minute scramble when difficult seasonsâor the return of Christâarrive.
Keep Your Lamp Burning Bright đŻïž
âThose who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.â â Matthew 25:3-4 NKJV
Spiritual preparedness cannot be transferred. Just as the wise virgins brought oil for their lamps, we must cultivate the âoil of intimacyâ with the Holy Spirit. đ„
đż Actively seek His presence and keep your lamp burning for His return.
Are you ready? Is your lamp filled with oil?â

Isaiah 43:19
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
Romans 8:31-34 NLT 31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, wonât he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No oneâfor God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No oneâfor Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at Godâs right hand, pleading for us.

"Man loves his own ruin. The cup of pleasure is so sweet that though he knows it will poison himâyet he must drink it. And the harlot is so lovely, that though he understands that her ways lead down to Hellâyet like a bullock he follows to the slaughter until the dart goes through his liver! Man is fascinated and bewitched by sin. No sin, whatever it is, shall ruin any man if he shall come to Christ for mercy."

43 But now, this is what the Lord saysâ
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
âDo not fear, for I have redeemed you;

Psalm 145:18
18 The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
Thank You, Lord. Amen. đ
