FINN: yeah i gotta look into that... i think any smartphone has got to be better than my iphone 3g
FINN: i couldn't just take a computer from you dude
FINN: friends with benefits sounds way too messy and complex too though
FINN: well lmk if there is one that looks like it isn't full of annoying people and i'll go, idk if i've ever actually been to the beach before
JANE: Oh, well then just upgrade from a iphone 3g to something
JANE: why not?
JANE: It depends on how you do it, though. I mean, eventually, people end up developing feelings for each other but on the other hand, its quite fun until that point.

Brittany
Brittany was more embarrassed than anything when Jane comforted her. She cursed herself for letting her nerves show so easily, but Jane definitely helped her to relieve some of the tension she was feeling. With the amount of movies she had seen, she should have been an expert at how to act on a first date but she gathered it was something that took practice. That was, if it was even a date at all. That was something that she wanted to clarify, but decided against. At least until she felt a little bit more comfortable. It sure did seem like a date, and with how the two had been talking over text, Brittany assumed that Jane was at least a little bit interested in her. It confused her as to why.
Brittany blushed at the compliments, and ducked her head for a moment, a shy smile on her lips. “Sorry. I’m just kinda new at this, but you probably already gathered that.” She said with a chuckle, relaxing her shoulders as she glanced up to meet Jane’s eyes. The waiter appeared at their table, and Brittany ordered for the both of them before he disappeared. “Thanks for hanging out with me, this beats playing video games, and that’s a big deal for me to say… Have you had a fun Sunday?”
Jane
Jane smiled as she listened to Brittany and waved off her apology. “You’re good, no need to apologize.” She said as she looked at the other girl. She gave the waiter a smile, watched him walk away before she looked over at Brittany, and nodded as she listened. “No need to thank me, Im glad to be able to hang out with you and thank you for letting me hang out with you. Well, I would be down to play video games with you and I can tell. I have, actually. Im here, with a beautiful girl and we’re sharing a banana split and I cannot think of anywhere else I want to be.”
To be honest, Jane wanted to think it was a date, since it seemed like the chemistry was there between them and it flowed naturally. However, she didn’t want to think of something that maybe Brittany didn’t want it to be. Though, maybe it could be. “So, is it okay with your parents for me to crash at your place?”

Brittany
As Jane slide into the booth, Brittany’s smile widened, which she didn’t think was possible. She knew that in the current situation that her and Jane were in, she should at least try to play it cool but if she was being honest, she had no idea how to do that. She had only just grasped how to talk to people without coming off totally nerdy, so she was definitely unfamiliar with dating etiquette. She hoped that Jane wouldn’t mind. She was so new to everything, and she really didn’t want to mess anything up before it had even began.
That’s why she cursed herself when she stuttered over the first few words that she uttered in person to Jane. “H-Hey!” She said, happily, trying not to cringe at herself. “No, no. It’s totally okay, I haven’t been waiting long for you or anything, not that I would mind if I was anyway! Um, I would have ordered but I didn’t know what ice cream you get or anything, and you could be allergic to some of the ingredients and that would of been a disaster so I thought I’d hold off until you got here. Um, what do you want? They do this huge banana split we could share if you want?”
Jane
Jane couldn’t help but smile when she heard Brittany stutter and listened to her ramble a bit. Jane reached over, placed her hand on the girl’s shoulder and made eye contact with her. “Take a deep breath, in and out.” She coached, rubbed her shoulder a bit in a comforting way. After a while, she pulled her hand away from her and placed it on the table. “You’re going to be fine, promise.”
“You are really cute and I would be honored to share a banana split with a gorgeous woman.” Jane grinned as she looked at Brittany. “I also have to admit you rambling is pretty cute as well.” She crossed her legs as she stared at her and hoped that her hair was perfect since it was the first time she actually straightened her hair. “For future references, you can get me any flavor of ice cream.”
Marley: It's okay, I hope distracted by fun things!
Marley: I mean I would be a very poor replacement for Cinderella, especially since the mice friends would freak me out
Marley: Lots of things! I can give you a list. Everyone keeps asking that but I don't really know what you guys are trying to hint at? Because lots of stuff happened, we chatted, played games, had dinner. That all counts as stuff.
Jane: I would say getting distracted by a beautiful girl is definitely a fun thing.
Jane: Not only that, you don't seem like a Cinderella type.
Jane: We're hinting at if you two hooked up or not, which no judging here if you two did or if you keep that private. That sounds exciting, really.
Marley: Well I know you wouldn't have made me but I would have offered to help, but I'm glad too! :D
Marley: You should! It's wonderful. Though I'd recommend waiting until they finally finish it because there's still lots of unreleased stuff. Yeah! We had a sleepover, it was lots of fun
Jane: I keep on thinking that I've texted you back, but I haven't. Im so sorry Marls! I've been uber distracted. D:
Jane: I would've told you no, because you shouldnt be cleaning. :P Yeah!
Jane: I think I will and ughhh. Alright, but is something else I should be playing? Oh really? Did anything happen during this sleepover?

In the space of a few short weeks, Brittany suddenly felt like a normal teenage girl for the first time in her life. She was trying to be more sociable, and was actually spending time with people for things other than school. It was a challenge, but she was determined to push herself. Of course, life in her room with her games console was comfortable but she would often feel lonely. Since she had started to try and be more social, it had really paid off. People seemed to actually want to get to know her, and to talk to her. It was unfamiliar, but it was nice.
Meeting Jane had happened by chance. It was completely up to the universe. She had seen the other girl around school quite a bit, but they had never interacted. That was, until someone decided to play a prank on Jane by writing her number on the school bathroom wall. Brittany only intended to let her know that she had removed it, but something better than she could have ever imagined happened instead. The pair began to form a connection, and every message that the blonde received made her smile from ear to ear.
Brittany rarely went out, and certainly not on Sunday’s because she believed that Sunday’s were perfect for being lazy, playing video games, and eating her body weight in snacks. So, her Father was more than surprised when Brittany appeared downstairs, semi dressed up, informing him that she would be going out with a friend. The smile on his face was something that Brittany would never forget. She asked if the pair could hang out in her room later on, and he was more than happy to agree. He was just happy that Brittany was beginning to have friends that she could bring home. First Marley, and now Jane. Although, Jane was having a different affect on Brittany as to what a friend would. It was confusing.
She wasn’t a girl who made an extreme effort with her appearance. Her clothes were nothing out of the ordinary, but her make up and hair were always very simply. She added a touch more to her look than normal, and went for a pair of skinny jeans paired with a plaid shirt that was a little oversized. Her make up was natural, but still more than usual and for once she actually thought she looked nice when she looked into the mirror.
The ice cream parlour was just a short walk from Brittany’s house, but it was still a slight struggle as she was still in pain with her knee. She powered through it though, the excitement far more present than any other feelings. She arrived before Jane, and a few minutes earlier than they had both agreed. It was a Sunday, so it was fairly quiet and she had no trouble getting a booth. She decided to wait until Jane arrived to order, because she realised she had no idea what the other girl would want.
So, Brittany sat, nervously playing with her hands as she waited for Jane to join her.Jane
Jane
Jane was definitely excited to be meeting up with Brittany. It seemed like ever since Brittany texted her, her mood has improved a lot and even her mom had noticed. She wasn’t for sure where it was coming from, but the texts between Brittany and her this afternoon, was definitely a sign why. “Bye ma!” She said at the top of her lungs, placed the duffle bag strap on her shoulder, head out of her house and tossed the bag into the back of her car. She slipped into the car, pulled out of the driveway and headed to the ice cream parlour.
She made sure her makeup was on point, along with her hair and outfit, since it was out of the normal range for her. Instead of her usual black, she was wearing spring colors and you could say it matched her mood for sure. She pulled into the parking lot, gotten out and locked the car as she headed inside. She stopped when she saw Brittany, swallowed some as she smoothed out her clothes and made sure her blue mini skirt was perfect, along with her purple tank top.
Once she was done, Jane headed in and couldn’t help but smile as she walked towards the other girl. She felt her heart start to race, along with her palms being sweaty and slid in across from her as she wiped her hands against her skirt. She gave her a grin, happy to be here with her. “Hey there beautiful, Im sorry I was late.”
Brittany: Oh for sure. Do you have any other celebrity crushes?
Brittany: What's it like? I've never done it. Sam said it was awesome. I've read up on the effects.
Brittany: You'd want me to visit you? I don't know if your friends would like that very much. I don't think I'd fit in.
Brittany: You're really pretty, yeah.
Jane: And hot, dont forget that.
Jane: I have a lot, actually. What about you?
Jane: You know, I can come over and you can try it yourself? He's right, its pretty awesome and makes you feel awesome. Though, there's always something else that makes you feel awesome.
Jane: I do, yeah. If they dont, then fuck them and so what? If you dont fit in, then I dont fit in and screw them.
Brittany: Wow. You know, I always kind of had a crush on Natalie Portman in Star Wars too. It must be a thing.
Brittany: They smoke funky stuff. Sometimes I can smell it if I walk by the bleachers.
Brittany: Yeah, you're right. The meaner parents don't give their kids many compliments, I guess mine are just nice.
Brittany: ...Thank you for the compliments by the way. I know I don't really express it very well, but I do appreciate them. I think you're really pretty, as well.
Jane: Sounds like a great plan to me.
Jane: Right? Its a beautiful thing, for sure.
Jane: That we do and sometimes its a great thing to do. Maybe you can visit me there.
Jane: And there's nothing wrong with that, at all.
Jane: You're welcome and anytime, really. That's a-okay because it happens and there's nothing wrong with that.
Brittany: I think they'll explore that soon. It looks like it's heading that way.
Brittany: That's cool. Have you always known?
Brittany: I don't usually get compliments, no. I think before today the only people who have complimented me are my parents and they kinda have to.
Jane: It better or I might go up to Vancouver and cause a riot.
Jane: Kind of? I remember having a crush on Natalie Portman as Padmé in the second Star Wars and wasn't for sure why? I thought it was because she's a badass but with Janelle
Monae's Yoga confirmed my sexuality.
Jane: Really? Damn. I would say what the fuck people are smoking, then I know what people are smoking but still. That's true, but sometimes even parents don't have to compliment their children.
