Almost two years later and still having panic attacks and flash backs. Only difference now is I have strategies to help cope and prevent them from getting out of hand.

When you get a second chance, take it.
Things don't always work out the way you planned.
Do what is best for you, not what everyone tells you is best for you.
Don't let fear hold you back.
Don't let guilt stop you.
Don't let other people's opinions keep you from being happy.
Sometimes I think I'm doing so well. Then something triggers me, and it all flashes through my head again. All I want to do is cry.
With your one year angel-versary quickly approaching all that PTSD is hitting hard.
My attention span is so short I have to restart movies and shows I haven't seen before.
I try doing things that I used to enjoy. It either takes me way longer, or I just can't focus on it. Sometimes I can't focus on anything. I may have to find new hobbies.
It's your birthday in a few days. I'm sad you are not here to celebrate. I'm sad I can't see your smile. Why does losing you have to be so hard?
Some days I do very well. Then I see some commercial, a FB post, a movie, a TV show, some cute couple at the store. That's when it hits me and I'm fighting back the tears.
Today I was sad.
I woke up crying.
I sat around and did nothing.
Today I accomplished nothing.
That's okay.
Some days are just sad days.
Sometimes I feel like my feelings aren't valid.
So I don't speak about them.
Sometimes I just want a hug.
But I never ask for it.
Don't give up on your dreams.
It may take longer than you planned.
Work towards your goals.
Don't give up on yourself.
Not being able to control the tears really sucks.
Things seem to be going good, then BAM something happens and you're knocked back down. Cry if you need to. Scream and yell about it. But always pick yourself up and try again.
You have to face the dark to get past your fear.
