Tea time! Had a craving for Indian-style masala chai so went shopping and found these beauties too, as well as the most adorable tea strainer from T2. Vanilla chai is amazing!

Friday arvo recovery swim. I’m learning to listen to my body, mix in some low impact cardio and ever so gradually overcome my ginormous dislike of swimming! It’s so important to change up your routine and try something different. Lucky we have a pool and sauna handy at our gym!
Pet Peeves at the Gym!
So, first day back at the gym after a nice long holiday. I had a good rhythm going, only to be wrecked by a few things which soured an otherwise awesome leg day. Argh! Don’t you hate that? Here are some of my top pet peeves in the gym.
1. Not asking whether you’re done a set and taking your bench/weights
Um, hello, I was still using that (as you clearly know since you’ve been eyeballing me from across the gym!)
2. Asking if you’re done and then standing behind you, hovering
I have a set left. Standing behind me isn’t going to change how fast I go, it just adds pressure and makes me feel uncomfortable. This seems to be a favorite guy trick, especially since our gym only has one squat rack.
3. Leaving weights on the machine/on the floor and walking off
Self-explanatory but it’s simply poor gym etiquette.
4. Texting/having selfie-time at the gym
‘Hogging’ equipment by sitting and texting...Groups of giggling girls spending ten minutes posing and sticking their boobs out. Sorry but I came to the gym to get some work done.
5. Reading magazines on the bikes
I get it on the treadmill. You’re walking, you need some entertainment. But on the bike? How are you even pedaling fast enough to get any benefit?
Jumping on the paleo bandwagon but they're pretty darn yummy! Couldn't find a bar at the airport that didn't have added sugar and/or a whole lot of incomprehensible & unpronounceable additives except this one! Yes it's got natural sugar but hey, lesser of the two evils 😝
Digging my new kicks! I'm slooowly getting back into running – my first real love – and it feels amazing. For now I'm really taking baby steps because I don't want to overdo it and bring back the shin splints in full force. I've been wearing compression sleeves under my tights, doing heaps of stretching, and have been trying to stay off the road -- so far shin splints have been kept at bay. I'm training for a trail run this December which is super exciting. Let's see how this pans out... fingers and toes all crossed!
So here’s me… in a bikini, on the beach in Bali. It took my seven years to get here – comfortable enough to walk around without a top covering my tummy or shorts covering my legs. I don’t have the perfect body and I definitely have more body fat than I’m comfortable with. But I’m finally coming to terms with it. It’s liberating.
It’s FREEING.
I can’t have one more holiday, one more year where I’m unhappy with the way my body looks. Fuck that. I want – I CHOOSE to be happy.
Self worth is so vital to your happiness. If you don’t feel good about you, it’s hard to feel good about anything else.

Eric Villency is the invisible design force behind many of the wellness scene's hottest, most iconic products.
So this guy might just have my perfect job. Described as New York's "New York’s veritable wizard of wellness design" he's responsible for some the hottest new fads circulating the health/fitness space these days. A neat mix of brand, spatial and product design in his portfolio – check it out here.
Wow. Massively agree.

Wise words
Forget all the fad equipment. The barbell is king, the dumbbell is queen, and everything else is a court jester.

Trying To Do Anything After Squats
Too true
I miss the gym. I miss weights. Kettlebells. Sandbags. Doing deadlifts. I miss the gym. Bodyweight training is all well and fine but holy heck I miss weights!
