Something that I have learned, overcome, and mastered is to ignore other people's judgments. You can too! Think about it, does it really matter what people say? Would it make you any happier if they always approved of you, your choices, lifestyle, etc? I'll be the first to say that it would because it's human nature to love approval. Now on a realistic level, does their approval really matter? OR does their disapproval really matter if you are happy with yourself? Do you want to live life in imprisonment according to what people think or say about you? Would you be happy always stressing about life's decisions basing them on what people would say? Live for yourself because life is a gift given to you. Please cherish it and make it worthwhile doing the things you love and of which fulfill you. Don't take a back seat in life thinking about "what will they say"? It's a waste of a perfect life.

Sometimes, not having the leisure of too much time to yourself is a blessing in certain situations where you have no choice but to remove the BS from your life. Why? Having a lot of time to yourself during that phase makes one dwell upon the situation and drown in it. On the other hand, not having the choice of spending time alone with your thoughts leaves you with no choice but to maintain composure, toughen up, move ahead, and kick-ass again!

Living life on your own terms requires a lot of courage, self-belief, and a person of strong will, but is better than living under enslavement any day!

Learning to love yourself is a great place to start practicing the art of goodness.

Adversities, suffering, and pain are not the enemy. They bring us to follow self-conscious paths which are less traveled. Perhaps, through our experiences with pain, some of us have discovered spirituality, Buddha, meditation, or mindfulness. Perhaps, through our adversities, we discovered ourselves. We grew to discover our strength. We discovered our purpose. Perhaps, everything brought onto us was only to shape us into the magnificent being we are meant to become!

Only when we stop making excuses for ourselves, will we will be able to go beyond our (made-up) limitations, test our strength, and grow.

Self-work should be a life-time commitment to ourselves, for we are the masterpiece of our lives.

In order to function at our most highest level, we must first disconnect ourselves from the dysfunctional...!

Closing Doors
I have never been able to understand the concept of family as only being classified to the ties of blood. Is that what makes one a family? Is it the only thing which keeps most of us connected to our families no matter what they have done to hurt us? Why do we give our families the pass to get away with everything and yet we are obligated to stay connected. There is something terribly hypocritical and disturbing about the fact that most of us are comfortable with letting family get away with some of the most horrendous acts yet we hold our friends to the cross for doing the same thing and end our relationships. The family members who feed you the whole concept of sticking together as a family no matter, regardless of what you’ve been put through in that family environment, are usually the abusers or the ones who simply don’t and won’t probably ever relate to hence won’t understand your struggles. Let me get real here, blood is just blood! It does NOT give a group of people the privilege to be part of your fabulous life when they least deserve to be. I will also say this, whether it’s family or friends, whatever takes away your peace of mind, brings out the negative in you, is highly toxic with negative energy, is best left behind. NEVER feel bad about disconnecting with toxic environments and people. You are not obligated to anyone or anything but to being your best and your own happiness. To function at our most highest level, we must let go of the dysfunctional!
