In an attempt to give this blog a bit more life support, I guess I'll yap about a new longsword set I put together in Monster Hunter Wilds below the cut.

(it's totally new because it uses a single armor piece of one of the new title update monster)

The idea behind this was to use the 2 piece fulgur anjanath armor set bonus and the combination of constitution 3 and a droolshroom meal (the shrooms provide an additonal 2 points of constitution btw) to use foresight slash counters without deactivating maximum might. 2 piece gore is on there because it's just so good and the regios arms to pack 3 points of adrenaline rush to activate off of foresight slash counters. This set reaches 70% additional affinity, so with the zoh shia longsword you cap out at 75%. It's not super high but it's just about enough to use skills like crit boost and master's touch.

I don't think this is an optimal longsword set since there aren't any points of counterstrike to abuse spirit thrust super armor but this is a nice set for a more laid back approach to longsword. Foresight slash counters are pretty easy to do (compared to special sheathe counters and spirit thrust super armor abuse) so this leans into that by letting adrenaline rush boost our raw damage. The use of adrenaline rush also lets this set use the regios longswodd fairly well too but I'm pretty sure zoh shia's longsword is still better.

You can also switch out the arms with literally anything else if you don't really care for adrenaline rush. Arkveld arms beta let you get a little bit more affinity and the slots to gem in constituion 5, blango/nudra arms let you use counterstrike instead (although if you want to abuse counterstrike you're probably better off making an entirely new set,) there's likely also some other armor pieces that could slot in decently if you look tbh.

I gave it a couple test run and it works fairly well. It works well on seregios at least lol.

and the ability to heal without the use of a flask right off the get go is a nice tool

finally got the platinum for Nightreign. tbh it took so long because I just didn't want to fight Astel in Noklateo, he's kind of a meh fight. But even Astel can become bearable with the combo of Wylder's greatsword moveset and Howl of Shabriri to shred through his hp.
