Harlow & Bella
“Oh yeah, I could never survive without my cute little dimples, that get me out of most of the trouble I get myself into. Just flash the dimples and the bastard falls on his knees. Look at me, I almost look innocent.” The younger blonde flashed an innocent smile towards her friend, batting her eyelashes for effect, before letting out a laugh.
“What, you’re working at the Starbucks, really? Not that I have anything against that, it’s still better than my job.” Though Harlow didn’t complain; it wasn’t the best place she could have chosen to work, and truth be told, though it helped with her cover from her family for a couple of years (who would have thought that Harlow Rowe, trying to run from a lifetime of abuse, would so willingly work at a similar place from where she was trying to escape? That’s what she’d been counting on), it didn’t serve its purpose anymore. She supposed she could start looking for a new job. But she’d grown accustomed with the people there and anyway, it paid more than enough money for her to get by. “We go for coffee then and a long talk.” She smiled, linking her arm with Bella’s and laughing as the other spoke. “Now that, I can help you with. Don’t tempt me too much, or I’ll give in and give you the time of your life.” Harlow teased, gently bumping the other’s shoulder with her own. “Uhm burgers. I can go for those too. Plus deep talks always give me an appetite and I sense one coming our way.”
“Is that how you get out of all your speeding tickets too?” she chuckled. “Innocent. That’s a funny one,” Isabella chuckled, remembering the times that the two would be mischievous together with their brothers. She loved having Harlow in her life and her smile could truly light up any room. “That’s my favorite thing about you, your radiant smile. I hope you smile more often, darling.”
“It’s just a side job I have. I mainly do interior designing, but it’s nice to have some extra income and plus I love working with people. I guess you could say I’m a people person. What are you doing now, darling?” Isabella hadn’t really caught up with Harlow in the past three years. She knew that a lot had happened with Harlow’s family, but she was never one to pry on someone else’s life. She just wanted everything to be okay. She loved happiness, but she could take a little advice from herself considering the fact that she’s been drowning her sorrows with alcohol, a secret she’s kept from many people. “Yes, we could, but not Starbucks because I already see my co-workers enough,” she chuckled. She continued walking with the fellow plot. “I love our deep talks and what better way to pair deep talks with than with greasy food?”
“I’ve heard we’re attracted to things that remind us of ourselves,” Cora mused. “I can do cold coffee sometimes, but generally I skip. If I’m going to have anything cold, it’s an alcoholic drink.”
“Are you attempting to say that I’m a cold person?” she chuckled. “I tried warm beer once at a house party and I was so disgusted by it, but beer is definitely not my cup of tea in general.”
“Well, admiration is not always wanted and males should know that, so my go-to advice would’ve been a straight ‘no’, but for future reference, the other options work too. If he insists you can even file a restraining order against him.”
“It just really bothers me that some men don’t know how to back off. I didn’t ask for him to constantly come. I mean I figured he would have taken the hint when I would run to the backroom any time he came in. I mean maybe I should have called the cops. But thank you. I might have to end up getting a restraining order.”
“She was lovely” he managed with a sheepish smile and a soft shrug before taking a deep breath “Not yet, it’s just a hangover. I was actually thinking of jogging it off after a nice cup of coffee.”
“I’m glad to hear that. It would be quite unfortunate if she was horrible,” she chuckled. “Coffee is great. I’m glad you don’t have a hangover at least. Jogging is nice but make sure you get rid of the headache first.”
“Okay, has anyone made you violent before?” he asked with a raised eyebrow, “And poking me does not count as violent.” He didn’t even budge at the punch, much to his amusement, but it was quite obvious that a punch from Bella to his toned biceps would not inflict much damage. “Wow. So strong. I’m trembling right now,” he spoke sarcastically, a smirk on his face. However, his expression got a bit more serious as he looked at her, tilting his head slightly. “If I make a promise to you, Bella, then I will not break it.” He assured her, being one-hundred percent truthful. Valor generally avoided making promises, but it was different when it came to his closest friends. “That sounds like so much work, cleaning them so often. I don’t think a little dust will hurt them,” he said with an amused laugh, though it didn’t surprise him one bit that she took such good care of the seashells he got for her. “Now that, I can do. Although I can’t promise it will only be a little chat,” he mused with a devious twinkle in his eyes. “Me? In a nursing home? Yeah, right,” he scoffed, shaking his head. “I’ll be running my city until the day I die, whether I’m delusional from Alzheimer’s or not. I’ll make sure to visit you, though,” he teased. “Ha. You don’t want to read that book. It’s a nasty fucking book. I don’t think that counts as being mean,” he commented with amusement. “Who said I thought you were cute? You’re alright,” he shrugged playfully, though there was still a devilish flicker in his blue hues.
“I mean does it count that when I was a baby, I apparently would punch Isaac all the time?” she chuckled, remembering the times her parents told her that she was a violent child. “Poking you is fun though. It’s totally violent,” she smiled. She slapped him once again. “Stop it! You’re being so mean to me. I can hit hard. I just don’t want to break your fragile body,” she teased. She nodded, knowing that he meant every word he said. Isabella trusted him more than she trusted most people in her life. She was grateful for him and was grateful that he was always willing to be there for her when the tides were a little rough. “I know and the same goes for you. I’ll never break a promise, not to you at least.” She laughed at his response. “You know how much of a neat freak I am. I mean I took pictures of each one and have them marked by year and occasion so I know if I’m missing one or where I got it from.” She slipped out a giggle. “I’m glad you’ll come visit me but make sure you bring me not so shitty food, okay? I don’t think I can survive off the shit they consider chicken.” She hated that Valor and Harlow weren’t on the best of terms right now. “I just hope you guys don’t hate me for not choosing sides because I love you both equally.” She crossed her arms and frowned. “You’re so mean to me. Come on. You know I’m cuter than most girls here in Las Vegas.”

“Now that I’ve finished binge watching Stranger Things I figured now’s as good a time as any to start socializing again. So, how’s your day going?”
“I don’t blame you. I’m binge watching The Originals right now and I’m nearly done with the second season. I’m well. I’ve been busy with work. I have to meet up with a client later today, how about you?”
“That would be awesome! I don’t like big birthdays for myself but I love when other people have parties, you know all the fun and none of the planning,” Sienna replied with a laugh. “Binging Netflix is always a good way to go, we should do that after have like a sleepover kinda thing! It’s nothing at all, what’ll you have?”
“I was never one for parties. I just enjoy spending time with those that I care about. I couldn’t agree more with you though. I guess it’s a lot different being a party planner than it is being an interior designer,” she acknowledged. “We definitely could. What shows are you watching right now? I’ll just take some nice red wine. Thank you.”
When Elliot met the blonde’s eyes, he couldn’t help but smile as he definitely thought she was beautiful. Watching her sip on her drink for a moment, he bit down on his lower lip hearing her talking back to him and he smiled, looking into her eyes now. “I definitely am now that I’m next to you,” he said charmingly before letting his eyes quickly roam up and down her body. She looked hot tonight and he wanted to let her know that. “You look hot tonight by the way,” he said with a small smirk. Elliot was going to have fun tonight so he wasn’t going to hold back on anything.
It was difficult for Bella to not stare at the guy across from her. He had a captivating smile and the moment he bit on his lower lip, he had her. She wouldn’t admit it though, but she was slowly getting turned on by the small things he did. She loved the way he looked at her. It made her feel like she was the only girl in the room. “And how many times have you used that line before?” she questioned. Yes, he was attractive, but no, she wouldn’t fall for his charming ways. It wasn’t the first time a guy had hit on her at a club so what would make this guy any differently. “Well thank you, person’s name I don’t know.” She chuckled. The alcohol hadn’t done it’s magic yet so Bella was still quite awkward. “What brings you here tonight?”
“I told him he didn’t want to fuck with me, not tonight.” Jack growled, shoving the drunk, bleeding man into the backseat of a taxi and slamming the door. His knuckles were already screaming, but he could at least take pride in the fact that he’d cracked the asshole’s nose after he’d pushed Jack’s buttons like that.
Bella wasn’t one for violence and was extremely concerned with what was going on. There was blood and she wasn’t aware of the circumstance of why this man had nearly beat this other man into a bloody pulp. She was afraid to approach him, but courage took over and she turned towards the man, “Hey. Are you alright?” She was genuinely concerned.
Harlow & Bella
Harlow’s grin grew bigger at the sound of Bella’s laughter. She remembered that sound, from when they were younger and innocent, before everything got wrecked and ripped to shreds. It had been years since the last time they were together when everything was still whole and needless to say that things would never be the same again – they were both broken, each in their own way, and each tried to move on from that.
“I think I’m aging well.” Harlow joked with a teasing smile as she pulled back, one hand reaching for Bella’s as she gave an appreciative look to the girl. “Damn, so are you.” If anything, Harlow was happy. She was happy to find that Bella seemed to be quite alright, though of course she knew, of course, sometimes what you see on the surface isn’t quite as things are deep down.
“I think we need some food and probably some coffee too. I’m sure there’s a lot we have to catch with.” She mused, one arm threading through one of the girl’s as she started walking with her side by side. “What are you craving?”
Bella honestly had no idea what was going on between the fellow blonde and her brother despite the fact that the three were all relatively close friends. She knew about what Valor and his father did in their spare time, but she didn’t want to get involved in that. She just hoped that they never dragged Harlow into that inescapable mess they call the mafia. She wanted to protect Harlow, maybe because she saw Harlow like a sister that she always wanted. Bella didn’t have many childhood friends, but she was grateful to have Harlow and Valor around.
“You definitely are. I mean look at you and you still have those cute dimples,” she smiled. “You’re going to kill me with all these compliments,” she laughed. It was great having the pair back together. A lot has changed since their last time together, but Bella didn’t want to dwell on that. She wanted to be happy again, an emotion she hasn’t remembered feeling in quite some time.
“Coffee is definitely a must. I mean we can always stop by Starbucks to grab some coffee. As a fellow employee, I’m going to say this. Their coffee sucks ass. We definitely have to catch up a lot on,” she walked with her. “I’m craving your body,” she winked. “I’m down for some nice burgers right now.”
“Oh, well of course! Coke on a Yacht, just listen to it and you’ll see that it’s just all about you, blondie,” Tyson said as she stood up and walked over to his best friend. He ruffled her blonde locks slightly before lightly pinching her arm, “Because I’m just that wonderful. I’m sure everyone wants to spend all of their time with me. So, technically you probably need to share. I’m literally the best guy in all of the United States…and I’m British. I’m a hot product, everyone wants some Ty time,” he joked, letting out a small chuckle. “Fourth!? That hurts my poor black heart, Bella-nator. But, I guess I’ll just have to work my way up to the top of the list then, huh?” Chuckling lightly again, Tyson pointed to his eyes as he faked a look of confusion, “These eyes? These eyes show no love. Not for blondies named Bella-rino nor for anyone.”
“I knew it! See, I was telling all my friends about it and they didn’t believe me! I’m so glad that now you’re proving me right,” she couldn’t help but laugh again. She slapped his hand gently. “Lay off the hair. I just got it done,” she teased. “But no one should. You’re my best friend so I reserve the right to have you to myself forever. I’m not sharing. That’s hilarious, babe. I mean why do you think we’re best friends? You’re one step closer to me meeting my dream boy, David Beckham,” she playfully stuck out her tongue. “Bella-nator? Are we coming up with new nicknames today, Ty-coon?” she laughed. “You definitely do. You can’t resist me. Please love me,” she frowned.
“There’s no such thing as too kind,” Lucas smiled genuinely at the comment. “You probably fought a dragon or something to save a village in a past life!” He couldn’t help but chuckle at her teasing. “…Have you already had a drink or are you just messing with me?” he inquired not sure how to reply. “Done! I always wanted to chisel a statue. You’d be the only one there for me honestly. I’ve been craving Italian so I am more than okay with it.”
“No, there isn’t, but you’re just always so overly kind to me, but I love it. Don’t ever be mean to me or you’re going to get punished...in bed,” she teased once again. “I have. I definitely have. I wasn’t the damsel in distress. I was the one saving people from castles and whatnot,” she chuckled at her made up story. “I mean I guess we’ll have to find out tonight, won’t we?” she teased him once again. “But that means I get a private show and what woman on earth wouldn’t want a private show from thee Lucas West. Good. I need some pasta in my life.”
