Too Late Lagoon || Belle + Mercy
After Belle managed to get that last breath of air, Mercy didn’t budge at all in the other attempts to resurface. No, Belle had her chance not to be in that situation. She could of not splashed her. She could of listened to the clear threats Mercy was giving her. So she didn’t feel entirely guilty about what she was doing. She was just asking for it, ultimately. “No, no help here,” the brunette said casually, looking down at the girl underneath the water. As she felt Belle struggle underneath her hands, she just frowned a bit. “Stop moving around, you’re making this a lot harder than it has to be.”
Belle feels water fill her lungs, hacking and coughing and flailing under the water to try and gain breath. But nothing comes, nothing but water through her body, the tight suffocation as everything begins to feel fuzzy. She wouldn't last much longer. Mercy says something muffled above the surface, but Belle can't hear. She opens her eyes, trying to push back up to the air. Why would Mercy do this? Why her? Out of everyone on the bus, why did it have to be Belle? But everything is black, and Belle feels her struggle soften. Blackness, silence, water... fright. What a cruel place the water can be.
