Despite how tired she’d seemed before, it was like she’d sprung to life before his eyes. He guessed that was good, because they weren’t anywhere near done yet. Kido had been very specific in her instructions as he’d left the base that afternoon.
"Great!" He beamed at her, pumping his fist like an enthusiastic child. "It’s Konoha’s birthday somewhat soon—or what we think is his birthday anyway, Ene somehow knows it— so we have to get presents and go grocery shopping for the dinner.” Konoha had made it a practice to follow Kido around like a lovestruck puppy, once he’d figured out she was where the food came from, so she couldn’t do it herself without him knowing. Although he probably would believe any lie they told him, it would be best to do it themselves.
"So, presents first?" Since food would spoil, of course. Half-jokingly Seto held out his elbow to her, like a gentleman escorting a lady— only half joking, of course, because he’d seen the way Momo had to cling to Kido sometimes, and because he’d had Mary cling to him as well so as not to get lost in the crowd.
如月 桃 ღ * } The mentioning of the word 'dinner' and 'food' alone made the girl imagine the yummiest of delicacies. Leader's cooking was surely the best, and if it were for someone's birthday, she knew it would just be a feast!- Or she wished. The non-existent drool and her eyes glittering would be a nice way to put it, she surely had something to look forward to! Not only her, but birthday boy as well; Konoha.
"That sounds about right." Agreeing with a nod, she balled her fists and sunk them into her dress' pockets, looking for the small cloth wallet she had owned for oh so many years. All that in secret, she was checking to see how much change she had on her own to maybe sneak in a snack before the late of the night. Maybe some candied apples? Ah, no that would be too big. . Takoyaki sounded tempting, but it takes a long time to eat, even if a beast were to come in and devour it, it would have to wait for it to cool. A small candy bar would seem suitable to seize her appetite for the time being, hoping her stomach would stop gnawing around, hopefully it wouldn't make noise, either.
A bad habit perhaps, she loved food. Ah, but not as much as the cause of the mission.
Snapping out of her long thoughts, she pulled out her hands and clasped them together with a grin. "Oh, how kind of you." She snickered, now she hovered her hand to smoothen down the loudness in her giggle.
"Good one." She pointed out before taking a hold of his invitation, not minding how it was supposed to be taken as a joke, she'd go along with it, therefore she hugged his arm, hopefully not too heavily to make it difficult to move around when arm-in-arm. After all, it was just a small act of laugh. "Pft, let's go."
