Sherlock pursed his lips as a voice carried into the aisle, over the music that he was currently listening to. He set the books he was shelving back on the cart and made his way over the the disruptive student, removing an earbud so that he could speak in a properly quiet manner. "If you intend to be that vocal, you'll need to leave the library," he said rather bluntly. "Especially considering that you are on the silent floor, and this environment is meant for accomplishing work, not playing some absurd game."

mycroft coming home from boarding school six months after sherlock is born and at first hes really distant because he doesnt know what to do with this blue-eyed curly haired baby but one day theyre in the play room and mycroft is minding his own business when he feels a tiny warm hand wrap around his pinky finger and sherlock crawls into his lap and mycroft slowly reaches out and strokes through the soft curls and allows himself to smile and after that the two are practically inseperable

Sherlock had seen the car outside, as well as the staff members that were making frequent trips into the dorm building, moving in what was undoubtedly the new student that had the building abuzz that morning. Every bit of conversation Sherlock overhead had been about the new boy. He had heard rumors that he was some sort of royalty, that he was more wealthy than anyone else at the school, and that was certainly saying something.

But what had surprised- and offended- Sherlock the most was what he heard from a group of boys in the dining hall during breakfast.

"I heard he's even more of an arrogant twat than the Holmes kid."

Being insulted was nothing new to the genius, and he knew he was arrogant anyway. But if these boys thought the new boy was even more so than himself? That was rather serious. Deciding to check this out himself, Sherlock waited for the car and assistants to depart, strolling down to the newly occupied dorm to peer inside and see what all the fuss was about.
