There's been a lot of costumes that Belly has seen throughout the night — some she knew and some she didn't — but what bothered her the most about his costume was that she knew it. She definitely did .. it was just the from where portion that bothered her the most. She couldn't freaking remember.

It was that nagging feeling that had Belly finally build up the courage to walk over to him and strike up a conversation with hopes to officially getting an answer.

"I don't know if you noticed, but I haven't been able to take my eyes off you all night," she begins and quickly realizing how it sounds, the brunette continues, "And I don't mean that in a hittin' on you kinda way. I mean it in a I've seen this outfit before and can't put a name to it way. Feelin' like helpin' a girl out?"

Aaron felt pathetic. He had been in town for close to two months now, and he knew that wasn't a long time, but it was as though he forgot how to be a person, and closed himself off. He wasn't like this, wasn't someone who enjoyed being on his own. He had always thrived in community, and he was finding it hard to wrestle with his past, with his choices. He needed to get out more. Needed to push himself into the unknown.

Which is how he found himself at Driftwood Coffee, papers to grade in his tote bag. He ordered a black coffee and a pumpkin bagel, an attempt to get into the season. He sat down at a table, his long legs awkwardly crammed and folded under his seat. He didn't even realize he was speaking until the words left his mouth. "I'm sorry... fall is great and all, but this isn't a bagel. This goes against the very nature of what a bagel is supposed to be!" You could take the boy out of New York, but you couldn't take New York out of the boy.

Morning coffee and a journal full of possible displays ideas for the season is how Belly decided to start her morning. Her shift wasn't until later and being the early bird she was, didn't know how else to kill her time — hardly knowing anywhere around this town yet without a map app open.

Dark eyes are focused on the open page in front of her, pen gliding across the paper as she writes the names of flowers to suggest to the others when he speaks: instantly pulling her attention away.

"As a pumpkin hater, I think I'm gonna have to agree with you," nose turning up at orange tinted bread within his grasp. "I hate the taste. Pumpkin flavored anythin' is a crime against all food and drinks." Sorry to the pumpkin spice lovers.

location: Botanical Gardens after 8pm

Emily loved the fall. She wandered through the botanical gardens, that had now gotten a Halloween makeover. There was something magical about fall, especially in places like these. The sun had long set, and the surroundings were let up by Halloween lights. She spotted the corn maze. Standing in front of the maze's entrance she said "I wonder if I’d actually get lost in there," she chuckled to herself. "Maybe I should just stick to the food stands."

"Gettin' lost in the gardens? That'd be mission impossible if you ask me," Belly says in jest, gaze shifting from the display in front of them to the woman beside her. "But, just in case, you could always try the corn maze method. Ain't it somethin' like walkin' straight until you get out? I think it'd work in a place like this."

"And it's still a cold case to this day." Nina utters in a mocking tone, before the tour guide could get to the same line in her script. "You'd think they'd get some new material by now..." Squatting on the grass hill above the crowd, Nina blows a bout of smoke up into the air. After all these years and the obviously fake tale of the John Doe washed up by the Docks hadn't changed at all. Maybe a few tour guides in the past embellished a tiny bit for dramatic effect.

"I think the scariest part of it all is you knowin' it line for line," the woman quips, gaze shifting from her place on the sidelines to the person standing beside her. A ride was a ride and, truthfully, she's used to the receptiveness of stories.

She was from New Orleans after all. A city never short of spooky tales to tell whoever wanted to hear them and, trust, there was always someone itching to hear the stories.

"How many times have you gone on the haunted tour?"

Belly made a promise that she'd at least put in some kind of effort into getting to know the new side of family better. Even if she'd much rather continue to move around the town and basically ignore them until mandatory family get togethers, she wants to at least pretend to try to keep the woman's mind at ease. Say that she tried and move on with her day.

Which is why she's at the diving club, scanning the area until that one familiar face manages to catch her sight. Taking in a deep breath and walking over — forcing a decent smile upon her lips.
