frank and eliza calloway’s son fancies himself a bit of a showman, doesn’t he ? adrian blazes his own trail ; while he does use the success of his parents as a catalyst for his own endeavors, he’s found comfort in an identity he’s created on his own. shameless and theatrical, it’s not uncommon to find adrian at the center of every room, atop every table -- if there’s a story to be told, adrian’s the one to tell it, and he’s an important asset to have at the side of anyone vying for the affections and attention of their peers. if there’s anything adrian can do right, he can charm his way out of a life-threatening situation -- the real question here is why is he such a closed book ?
adrian carries himself like everything’s a joke. he’s quick to reply with witty remarks, and still he looks so classy. it’s hard not to see him as someone who’ll be at the top of the business world in a few years’ time, even if he needs... a little polishing up. but most importantly, his smile does not reach his eyes. adrian’s handshakes are too sturdy, and he has eyes like a hawk. if adrian’s the class clown, his bad side makes him look more like a killer clown. keep an eye out, maybe ?

calloway records was first established in the sixties, adrian learns soon enough. his parents had inherited it from his father’s parents, who knew the company had been in good hands. as the unfortunate child of the couple, it’s his job to keep that sweet family heirloom in one piece. they name him belanger after a character from a movie. it feels ironic, almost, that a couple so focused on the well-being and maintenance of their family line wouldn’t hesitate to separate their first and eldest son from the rest of the lineage with a novelty surname. later, they will tell him it was to keep him from the paparazzi, and adrian will roll his eyes behind their backs.
he holds no resentment towards them, regardless. he gets a younger sister in two years’ time, and the busy schedule of the calloway parents is soon split between young adrian and victoria. more than often, he finds himself becoming the playtoy of the upper class, the cutest poster boy of calloway records. the boy with such a nice face and a beautiful name. he learns to model, to write, to produce music. he becomes a jack of all trades, and a boy turns into an heir. an heir and so much more. black tie affairs were adrian’s favorite extracurricular activity, and he certainly was one to light up a room --

adrian has gained a reputation as the heir of calloway records : in other words, when his parents croak, he’ll get to choose what music’s on the radio. illustrious, isn’t it? but, no, no. amongst his friends and peers, adrian is adrian. the boy in the magazines, yes, but also a classmate. to some, he’s just the same as the boy he once was. hey, it’s not his fault he’s obnoxious! isn’t university, of all places, the one to celebrate in?
“ so, what’s the situation ? ” - adrian pulls one of his trademark coy smiles ; “ we’re winning again this time, right ? let’s hope our boys don’t let us down. ”
