Skam
So the conversation between Even and Isak where they discuss their respective worldviews was pretty fascinating. I know a lot of other people have focused on the part where Even talks about death, but I’m not entirely convinced that he’s expressing suicidal thoughts. In fact, Even’s life philosophy is very positive. He feels like he’s the director of his own life – this is a very ordered, deterministic way of looking at the world because everything that happens, happens for a reason. In the context of that moment, Even is essentially saying that “I wanted you, so I just went out and got you. Isn’t that amazing?”. The other thing to take note of is that this is an egotistical and maybe even manipulative way of looking at the world. If you the director, then everybody else is just an actor playing a part that you have given them. Let’s just say that it wasn’t a coincidence that Even’s Halloween costume was God!
In contrast, Isak’s worldview is a lot more chaotic. He expresses a belief in multiple universes, that anything that can happen has happened, just in another world. To put it another way, if the curtain are yellow, Even believes that they are yellow for a reason. Someone liked the color yellow and so bought yellow curtains. If you were to rewind time and do it again, that person will buy yellow curtains every time. Isak doesn’t think it’s that simple. Maybe yellow curtains were the only curtains available at the store. Maybe in another universe, someone went to a different store and bought blue curtains and it’s just random chance that in Isak’s universe they went to that specific store and bought yellow ones. So Isak’s philosophy is that the world is random and that while we have some control over our lives, a lot of what happens to us is outside of our control.
And it’s easy to see why he feels that way. One of the defining moments of his life was when his dad left his mom – not something anyone, especially a teenager, could do anything about. He didn’t want to join Vilde’s social group and he didn’t want to host a pre-drinking party either, but they happened anyways. And while he’s responsible for what is happening with Emma, that’s largely taken on a life of its own. Even his relationship with Even (hehe) was something he just walked into. He wanted it, for sure, but he didn’t know how to go about it and after meeting Sonja seemed to give up and try making things work with Emma. The fact that he ended up with Even anyways (at the time) must have seemed like winning the lottery.
What I find a bit more mysterious is Even’s reaction to hearing Isak’s thoughts is that it made him feel lonely and freaked out. I get why someone like Even might get freaked out at what seems like a completely opposite worldview, but why would it make him feel lonely? Is it because he thinks that he can never truly understand Isak and that Isak can never truly understand him?

Coliver hate sex because I said I couldn’t do it.
So, assuming from S3 spoilers that Connor found out about Stanford early in the summer, I’m not expecting much more than a 2 min scene in the premiere to put Stanford behind them completely.
Not that it could be this scene, but I can hope. These guys never talk about their problems on the show, they just fuck. Why should my fics be any different lol. Um, so basically, Connor’s mad. Oliver’s mad because Connor’s mad. They have sex, and it ain’t tender.
“Where the hell have you been??!”
Connor had braced himself for a hefty argument before he walked through the door, but still he winces from the sound of the other man’s voice. His stubbornness refuses to let him back down, so he swallows the lump in his throat and shrugs his shoulders. “I was out,” he says curtly.
Oliver scoffs, throwing his hands up as he stares at the other man in disbelief. “Out?” He asks, incredulous. “You were out? Would you care to elaborate, Connor?”
“Yeah Oliver, I was out. I didn’t realize I needed your permission for that,” Connor mutters as he pushes past the other man to the living room, where he throws his bag and jacket on the couch–something he knows Oliver hates.

We throw so much information at the jury that they walk into the deliberation room with one overwhelming feeling doubt. That’s how you get away with murder.

I’m a cheater, yes. And a slut, and a bad person. And now a murderer. Judge me if you want, just do it while we are carrying the damn body.
So I’m done.
