Omg??? That ER doctor not knowing anything really pissed me off. Could you have b12 deficiency? Any gastrointestinal issues that weren't addressed maybe? I hope you find answers soon <3

yeah, honestly chronic illness may be the thing that forces to me to leave the beautiful small town I live in because the healthcare here is really rough. Luckily I’m working with an excellent functional medicine doctor, and I’m going to ask her for lots of vitamin testing because I’ve heard many people with hashimotos are deficient in various vitamins, especially B12! Also going to get a GI map soon for my IBS. thank you, lovely! ❣️

reluctantly went to the ER tonight after almost crashing my car because I had a very sudden horrible and intense shooting pain in my hand and couldn’t open my fingers and talking to the small town ER doctor felt like a high-stakes game of riddles with a bridge troll.. he said he assumed it fibromyalgia after very minimal testing and this was our conversation after that

“the really intense sudden pain doesn’t sound like what I know of fibro” “well fibromyalgia is in fact a real illness” “no I know it’s a real illness? I’m saying that’s not a normal pain presentation in fibromyalgia, right” “that’s true, it’s abnormal for fibro!” “So why do you assume this is fibro?” “Well there’s actually no test for fibro! You diagnose it by ruling everything else out basically” “yeah… so if it’s not presenting as fibro and you’ve done minimal testing, why are you making this assumption?” And he responded to this question with a weird rant about nerves? “Well I also have a fever and high blood pressure right now. Do you have any thoughts about what may be causing that?” “No.. I don’t know. Sorry” and then he shook his head and left the room
