charles couldn’t shake the overwhelming feeling that something was wrong && even worse , that it was his fault . the various issues that they had encountered that week had really taken a toll on the telepath . as he sat at his desk , mulling over his thoughts , he didn’t register that someone else had entered the room .

HE WASN’T A telepath, but he’d sensed that something was up with charles; perhaps, it was that he’d known charles for so long. understanding his mannerisms, the way he’d react to certain circumstances. the metal bender entered, with no objective, but to check up on him.

“a penny for your thoughts, charles?” erik questioned.

IT WAS ALMOST so fictional, to think that one day, civilisation would be on a new planet. though, it could be possible, but for it to happen so soon? it most certainly almost felt fictional; as if he was reading a science-fiction novel.

yet, it came with the price of losing abilities, and then being stranded on a planet; sounds so very much like a science fiction novel. though, at least it did help that the avengers knew of thor, one of the groups that was also on this planet — was the other called guardians? or so, that’s what he heard.

erik’s eyes drifted over, before grey hues saw a green figure. he could assume that she was a mutant, until he remembered that she was with — was it the guardians? erik approached her warily, though he wasn’t one to approach someone, nor strike up a conversation.

“considering that we are stuck here, i suppose it would do us some good if we knew of each other,” erik stated silkily, “i’m erik.”

Some days Gamora was so irritated with Quill for getting them wrapped up in this mess that she wanted to wander away on this god forsaken planet, just to have a moment to herself, a moment where she didn’t have to hear voices of strangers. Those days were far and few between. She knew better, even if she wanted nothing more than to be anywhere but here. It was bad enough when they were stuck, worse yet when they’d run into the Asgardians, but now that they were amongst all these Terrans, she was beyond pissed. 

At the sound of someone approaching, she turned, nodding in response to his introduction. “I have to agree. It’s useful to familiarize,” she agreed. “I’m Gamora. Are you one of those intending to live here?” she asked.

THE IDEA OF living on a completely foreign planet still seemed interesting; what it could bring. whilst the concept of civilisation on orbulite, where it perhaps promoted a rather peaceful mutant and now of other species, and of course humans; maybe that idea seemed much more appealing than to survive on a planet, with bigotry, with many others he looked down upon.

young him would’ve, perhaps freaked out at talking to an extraterrestrial species, but now — what was there even surprising anymore, considering that even those he once thought were mythology exists.

“erik,” he replied, “and frankly, yes. what about you?”

THERE WAS CERTAINLY a sense of relief, when his powers came back. to feel the metal, and perhaps the magnetic field surrounding them once more, whether he was trying or not.

though, who was he to believe that things would finally be looking up for them? the unsettling howl, that made him all too aware and alert. of course things finally returning to ‘normal’ amongst this chaos would mean a price would perhaps, have to be paid.

his grey hues drifted over to a man that walked towards him. one of rogers’ and stark’s people then; the avengers, was it?

“indeed. it would be an interesting outcome, had it been permanent,” erik replied, as he took bucky’s hand, “erik. it’s a pleasure.”

it wasn’t that which caught his attention, and nor did he care; but the metal that he seemed to be feeling from the other — a strange amount.

“forgive me if i come across as … arrogant, but i’m only intrigued. what’re your abilities? i’m a metal bender.” erik said.

Truthfully, Bucky wasn’t sure how it would have changed things for them if the loss of powers had permanent. He, personally, knew he would’ve been okay. There were several others that would have still had a job here without their powers. But their powers were what made them comfortable on new terrain, exploring a new world. And he was sure some of them had felt lost without them. “Certainly not a good one,” he said, smiling a bit. “The pleasure is mine,” he returned. 

He looked up, a bit surprised by the question. “Hm? Oh, I have a general advanced physiology. Faster, stronger, easier healing. That sort of thing. I also have a bionic arm,” he said, rolling up his sleeve a bit to show it off. “It’s kind of a long story, but it gets the job done. Metal bending. How do you use that?” he asked curiously. He couldn’t imagine how it would come to use in most settings.

THE BRIEF TIME without his abilities almost reminded him of when he was a child, when his powers hadn’t yet manifested. how it almost reminded him of a time when he felt helpless. had it been permanent — perhaps, he’d be able to do handiwork, but to defend? he would be left defenceless.

erik’s eyes trailed down the other’s bionic arm curiously. . . interesting. he wondered if bucky was born with the abilities -- perhaps. though, other than that, he could only assume that something had happened to the other that costed him his arm.

“i can manipulate anything metal, make it do my bidding,” erik explained, “by any chance do you have something metallic that is worth of no value? i suppose it might be easier to show than tell.”

OF COURSE, MOVING planets would’ve brought its changes, whether it be temporary or permanent. just like how moving houses, or cities, or countries would. though, would he have suspected, that the changes this brought would mean rendering him powerless, and others powerless?

by all means, erik had tried to contribute the most he could; he ventured, and also listened to what plans would be made, considering that they were all, perhaps, trapped here. orange turned to a shade of navy blue, and then night. 

the tents seemed bigger than it looked from the outside; with accessible amenities. though, it was the rumbling that caught his attention. and then his powers… trickling back so quickly and suddenly, he could feel the metal that surrounded them once more.

“charles,” erik stated warily, “are your powers are also coming back too?”

he had planned with the others , but hadn’t been prepared for the quake in the slightest . thankfully , the effects seemed to be only temporary . it would probably be best if they tried to brace themselves for next time .

the loss of his powers was a bit of a shock , although he didn’t really mind it . being surrounded by people he barely knew came with its difficulties . some of their thoughts were . . . a bit complicated to understand .

quill’s mind was rather immature , but had more cursing than he’d expect — he tried to stay out of there as much as he could . most of the others were focused on the mission , which was a good thing . now , there was just silence . charles paused for a few moment , waiting for the voices to return . finally , he heard the familiar sound of erik’s voice in his head .

‘ yes , i believe so . i can’t say that i don’t miss the silence . ’ it was rare that he’d get a respite from his abilities , but this time , the silence seemed unnatural .

ERIK COULD ALMOST let out a sigh of relief , when he’d heard charles’ voice in his head. at least — the loss of powers were temporary, and at least, charles also had his powers back too. perhaps, others as well. 

“silence is a bliss,” erik replied drily to charles, “shall i assume back to my usual ‘stay out of my head charles’?”

having his powers; it most certainly made him feel much at ease than he would admit, knowing that metal or anything magnetic could do his bidding. should anything go wrong, he would have something to defend himself. or, perhaps, it’d be very soon.

‘ of course . i wouldn’t want to be in your head longer than necessary . ’ he quipped , a small smile gracing his features . having everyone’s thoughts in his head now swirling around in his mind definitely required a bit of an adjustment period , but it was oddly comforting .

‘ i wouldn’t worry too much about that noise , erik . it’s probably just the wind or something . ’ charles attempted to reassure the other , speaking in a soft tone . but then again , who knew what was out there ?

there were many things that erik could picture this howl to be, though he would greatly appreciate if charles’ words were right; that it simply would be a wind. but orbulite isn’t like earth. they’d already run into the asgardians and the guardians, and it was perhaps, pure luck that the avengers knew of them, particularly thor. though, how long can such luck last until they meet face to face with an anonymous source?

grey hues scanned the environment, checking for what could be out of the ordinary, feeling for anything metallic that didn’t seem to belong, or for the difference in the magnetic fields. maybe, it was that it wasn’t day, where he couldn’t see things as clear.

“i’m rather surprised that i’d let you stick around in my head this long. perhaps this time is simply an exception because after all, we did lose our powers momentarily” erik intoned, “i hope i do know you well enough to know that you won’t go poking around my head as if it was a wardrobe.”

IF SOMEONE ONCE told erik that one day, he would be moving to a new planet for a new beginning, he would’ve laughed straight in their faces. how extravagant was this move? not to a new country, let alone a new city, but a new planet. yet, here it was. orbulite. how ironically peaceful was it? so different to the toxicity that were being received back on earth. orbulite; a new planet, where there, it could promote a peaceful coexistence between mutantkind and humankind. or so, until came along two other groups, to which, he’d learnt one were asgardians and the other was a group that called themselves… guardians, was it? erik wasn’t planning on making any more connections so soon; the connections he already had so far would suffice. yet, until the strange phenomenon occurred which rendered him powerless, he felt that he’d have no choice, but to make connections, to build alliances for the seemingly common purpose. he approached the familiar face — was that the god that tried to take over earth? how peculiar. perhaps, it would do him some good to form an alliance with the latter. “interesting isn’t it,” erik stated silkily, “that circumstances have led to this.”

Stuck on a new planet with the same bunch of Earthly idiots had to be some sort of cruel irony. Or perhaps cosmic karma for his past wrong-doings. Either way, he found himself surrounded by them and he guessed he was lucky that they were all currently powerless. This particular Midgardian was, however, unknown to Loki. Though from the staring of some, he gathered this guy wasn’t well liked or well trusted amongst the many. Something the pair had in common. 

“Interesting wouldn’t be the word I’d choose,” he commented, looking over at the male for a moment. Those of Earth had their reasons for wanting to settle on another planet. The God had overheard a conversation with Thor and Steve about Project New Home and how these heroes wanted to escape the poor treatment from the rest of the Midgardians. Though there were more than just the Avengers in the large group and he wondered who these others were.

It wasn’t even that he’d grown accustomed to having them, even relying on them, though those were both true. It was more knowing that something was returning to normal, even if he didn’t think that would make a different in the grand scheme of things. The sound of howling wasn’t all too comforting, but at least he now knew he had his abilities if he needed them. Admittedly, his arm did take care of a lot of that. How is your character taking the unilateral decision to leave earth?

this is where i think gets interesting. i imagine erik choosing to make this decision because he believed for a new beginning, where though they are on a different planet, mutant kind would certainly not be looked upon; that they won’t be as ostracised or marginalised anymore. and that there would be a peaceful coexistence between mutant kind and humans.

Is your character dealing well with the prospect of life on a new planet? Are they scared? Concerned? Excited?

erik is dealing the prospect of life on a new planet relatively well. i think it’s also comes because he used to travel a lot in his past in his pursuit for revenge, and definitely when he had to change hideouts when he (and the brotherhood of mutants) were on a run. in short, erik accepts the new planet easily

erik is one to work with others when they share a similar goal, objective. also, on a new planet that he’s never been on; it would do no good if he should try work on his own, contrastingly, he is one that would work on his own

erik is not an optimistic person, but i would say that he would give Orbulite a shot that perhaps it would mark a good new beginning

If your character volunteered to be part of the first two groups to Orbulite, or the rescue group sent after them, why?

erik was in the first group, he made this choice, because he wanted to explore and see if orbulite would be a good place for mutants — if project new home is a good place for mutants. so his objective is essentially, not just for himself, but also for mutants as well.

┈ ࿇ *‘ﾟ☄︎ * the stars beside pietro and wanda’s name . while in the comics it is known that the maximoff twins are erik’s children , and also as well as fox’s xmen where it mentions that pietro/peter is erik’s son, i chose to put a star there , which is more focussed towards the mcu maximoffs , since mcu versed esp the maximoff twins because in the mcu it was not once mentioned , not even known that erik is the father of the maximoffs . so if it comes down to mcu , the relationship between erik and wanda or erik and pietro , will really depend on what is chosen; whether they will not have one or they will have one. the similar applies for billy, shepherd and luna. while in the comics , billy and shepherd are the children of wanda and luna being the child of pietro, subsequently, erik’s grandchildren, they are not yet mentioned in the mcu; so their relationship, does also depends on what is chosen
